New but experienced Internet Marketer seeking Mentor

Hello,

I would just like to know if there are any experienced Internet Marketers out there, who have successfully made a living from Internet Marketing, who might be willing to take on an apprentice?

I've successfully created two websites that have made me a small amount of money, but nothing substantial. So in that sense i'm not completely new to the field and have experience with web-design, HTML, article writing, SEO, and Outsourcing.

I'm a hard worker, dedicating just about every day to trying to make Internet Marketing work for me so I definitely won't slack and will do what is necessary and required of me.

If interested, please reply. If not then please don't.

Thanks,

Andrew

Read this forum for a couple of weeks and you won't need a mentor to get you started. Learn the basics -

    - Keyword research
    - Article writing
    - Where to submit them (or better still run your own site with the content)
    - How to improve the rankings
    - List building
    - Affiliate marketing

That sounds like a lot but everything you need to know is here. Search this forum and Google in general and you'll have an absolute ton of info to get you moving in the right direction.

      Hey Guys,

Thanks for all of your posts. But I'd simply like a helping hand, someone who knows exactly what their doing and can help me learn at an even faster rate in relation to my own particular goals and direction.

I've used this forum before, but there is so much information here that I feel completely overloaded just looking through the different sections. Sometimes I'm not even sure what questions to ask. So I'd like to cut through everything that isn't needed at the moment and focus solely on what I should be focusing on to attain my goals.

How other members feel about 'mentoring'?

What's with the quotes? Is there something wrong with it?

I wouldn't be where I was without the guidance of a mentor.

Maybe I would be making some money, but definitely not as much
as I have up to this point.

The tone of your sentence made it as if all internet marketing
          mentors are bad or something.

I could be mistaken, but that's how I took it.

It certainly helps if the student is ready for the teacher and is
a waste if the student is not ready.

And not all mentors are good. Some are great, some suck.

Based on what he's requesting, it seems that he wants someone
who has had past success and knows how to teach it to advise him
more than anything so he knows he's moving in the right direction.

Not sure if there is anything wrong with that.

It's his responsibility to pick the best person for the job.

I've been calling myself a "dot connector" for a long time now - everyone has 90-95% of the dots. It's the LAST 5 dots in the puzzle that are SOOOO elusive, and, interestingly, where the MONEY IS. :-)

Follow me, DM me when I follow you back (I follow 100% of Warriors and most others), and start connecting those last remaining dots!

IF you have all that expereience, then surely you would be able to use it to make money?

I don't get it when people come looking for a mentor and list over 4 of the almost essential skills for IM success.

That line, right there, turned off the best potential candidates you might have had. It says volumes about how you'd be to work with.

              LOL Paul.

              Good point.

Another reason why, in many cases, one on one personal mentoring in ANY field of
              endeavor is so costly.

Have you considered the cost implication? I wouldn't imagine a successful full-time Internet Marketer would do this for less than $100 an hour. I agree with others that this might well be worth it to you.

However, with the Thirty Day Challenge pre-season about to start (where you'll get top-rate training for free) I would look at that first.

make the whole forum as your mentor! for sure, you will be successful with your goal.
no need to actually find someone that will tell you what to do..

I think the best part about having a mentor is being able to SPEAK with them over skype, phone, etc.

Reading through thousands of paragraphs for that one key bit of information that you seek could be done in a 30 second conversation... literally.

I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to mentor you, however I am in the same boat as you.

If I ever become captain I will extend my knowledge to everyone else, but until then, I hope that more experienced seaman :-) will speak up and offer some assistance.

    Have a good day everyone!

We'll I can't say for sure about finding a "good" mentor, because what's good for you may not be good for someone else. But just asking here alone I've had a few proposals. So it's most certainly possible. Just gotta find someone who can meet your needs and requirements. Try asking. Never hurts to ask.

For some people, having someone on hand to ask questions and seek guidance provides a better learning experience than reading a forum or a book. The one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work when it comes to learning. Look at our schools systems in the United States as an example of how it doesn't work.

We each have different learning styles that fit best with our personalities. Hope you find someone who can help you out. If I could find a good mentor and could afford it, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I couldn't agree with you more. I must say though, it's great now (with technology) to have so many avenues to learn from (like books, forums, videos), but everyone knows nothing beats having a personal mentor! Someone to help you when you follow all the "steps" but still hit a snag. That's where the real value comes in.

      I hope you find someone!

You should get one on one mentoring from Kyle and Carson at the Wealthy Affiliate University. Why not try them out for seven days. There are others also, but these two are famous for affiliate marketing and are live on the forum daily and when you PM them, they definitely respond.

Thank you virtuallywork for that recommendation. I will take a look at the Wealthy Affiliate university.

When you ASK for a mentor, you do a whole bunch of interesting things all at once:

    1. You demonstrate that you KNOW YOU NEED HELP (doesn't sound like much, but this is HUGE!!! trust me on this one)

    2. You demonstrate that you are NOT one to sit on your butt and whine, but one who TAKES ACTION (thumbsuckers NEVER EVER get off their duffs and ask for help)

    3. By virtue of asking for help IN THE RIGHT VENUE (few places on earth are better than here), you have sent the equivalent of a SEARCH ENGINE SPIDER crawling out over the IP connections, looking for someone who might have to offer precisely what is missing in your mix of skills and needs. That's what brought me here - a clever little bot by John Delavera called Turbo Forum Spy that plays "mirror mirror on the wall" with the key words I feed it. (smiling)

If people only who the "power of ask" they might actually ASK MORE!!

      Hey Steven,

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm more serious about this than anything I've ever done, so I was more than willing to ask, because I know that I do need help nor am I afraid to admit it.

I also sent you an email, not sure if you got it. If you did and we weren't on the same page, then everything's all good.

      Thank you for this post.

You don't need to be someones apprentice, just read up on the net, Andy Fletcher provided an excellent summary of the salient concepts that you will need when he responded in this thread. Just plug those into Google and read relevant articles
