How can I get people to see my blog?

Hey, I'm new to blogging and thought I'd give it a try, my niche is skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis etc. Anyway, I'm in process of becoming affiliated with an author of an eBook and ive put adverts on my page (relevant to the blog page) using widgets from wordpress, which is what i'm using. I've about 30 mins ago put Google anayltics on - godaddy used to do it for free but as i never checked, but wanted it there, i never really bothered looking - but apparently it's not gone.

I'm not sure really how to advertise it, i'm not really wanting to invest a lot of money in it - i enjoy blogging and gives me something to relax and do. But i'd like others to see it.

Thanks in advance

Mike.

*Edit: Due to being a noobie - if possible could you...explain it like you're talking to a 3 year old? I'm still trying to learn all these keywords I see being thrown around the Forum! Thanks *

You'll definitely need to focus on SEO and Social Media if you don't want to invest any money in it...
Investing a few bucks could help you greatly though
    Good luck!

Social Media would be the way to go. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest. Invest your time on creating a presence on these websites as well.

Thanks a lot. Should I fill it with keywords?

Awesome thanks a lot for that I will definitely use twitter - micro-marketing for the hashtags, i guess?

I suggest you to share your contents through facebook, twitter, reddit and stumbleupon. These four are enough to gain good traffic if you have good contents in your blog.

  • Heya Mike,

Test out the things below. This has been working very well for our tech startup clients, and it could possibly work well in the health niche, too -- Heads Up: Long Post!

STEP 1. Write up a brief mind-blowing ebook that can help your target viewers solve their most pressing problems or satisfy their most immediate needs in your niche. An eight to twelve-page ebook with relevant custom or royalty free stock images / photos that can improve the overall presentation of your ebook's content would most likely be good. For ideas, check out the cover story headlines and feature titles in recent niche-related magazines that have been selling well in your target countries. Then, include your affiliate links in the ebook, particularly in the most suitable sections of the ebook and with a compelling call to action recommendation / message.

STEP 2. Get an auto responder like Aweber or so. Read more about these auto responders to find the most suitable one for your specific needs, such as the platform of your blog (WordPress, Drupal, custom PHP/HTML, etc.) and so on.

STEP 3. Set up your auto responder, incorporate your ebook as a free download upon mailing list subscription, and integrate a mailing list subscription box into the template of your blog. Placing it in a visible yet unobtrusive section in your blog's template may work well. If you aren't confident with your tech skills, hire someone to do this for you.

STEP 4. Write up a sticky blog post with epic content that can compel your target viewers to subscribe to your mailing list so as to download your ebook.

STEP 5. Find active niche-related Facebook groups, or even Facebook groups that are laterally relevant to your niche, with many members in your target countries. Get the user IDs (UIDs) of these members. You can do this by hiring someone to do this for you, or you can search for software that you can use to do this.

STEP 6. Set up a Facebook page for your ebook. Write up a pinned to top post, preferably with a compeling video embedded into the post. You can do this by creating a video, or hiring someone to do a short video introduction for you, then by uploading your video to Youtube, getting the embed code and integrating it into your pinned to top post. Include in the pinned to top post a call to action statement like "Go here to download..." and so on, with "here" being a clickable link that points to the blog post you just wrote, as mentioned in step 4 above.

STEP 7. Set up a Facebook ad. Create a custom audience using the UIDs of those members in those active niche-related Facebook groups that you found, as mentioned in step 5 above. Write a compelling ad headline and description, and use an atention-grabbing photo / image, such as the cover of your ebook, as an image for the ad. Your target audience for your ad should be the custom audience that you created. Set up a fixed daily budget that won't put you into a complete state of poverty, place a suitable PPC or PPM bid for your ad, let your ad run for say 30 days or so, and don't forget to monitor your results and improve all relevant things along the way during this test period.

STEP 8. You may also choose to boost your pinned to top post in your Facebook page that's mentioned in number 6 above. Your target audience should be the custom audience that you created in step 7 above. Again, set a fixed daily budget that won't force you to skip meals or so, then run it for 15 days or so, monitor your results and improve all relevant things during this test period...

That's it. Don't forget to share the links of your blog posts in your Facebook page so as to provide more content for first time viewers, as well as to remind your target viewrs to feel free in sending related questions or inquiries, since this could improve viewer participation. Hope this helps...

Marx Vergel Melencio really made a wonderful post. I recommend you read it twice or more. Also if you don't understand something, look for more information on the subject.

I would recommend you to create a profile in as many social sharing websites as possible. This will help you get some exposure. Also write on topics that people usually have problems like acne. There are some really nice products which you can promote and make nice money... if you get the traffic.

Blog commenting is a great way to get traffic, but you need to do it correctly.

When I post an article on my blog, I search for other blogs that used the same or similar key words I used in my post.

Then I go to those blogs and make real comments to their posts. I then record them in a spread sheet so I can easily go back to see if my comment has been approved.

Then I go to all the social book marking sites and post the url to the comment on the other persons blog.

After I have posted 3 or 4 other blog urls to my comments, I post the url to my posted article on my blog. I do not post my direct url to my article until I have posted 3 or 4 urls to these other blogs so I don't get banned from the book marking sites.

When you first start this method you should start to get traffic to your blog with in an hour or two.

You need to do this method 3 to 5 days a week for at least 3 months and you will have a ton of traffic coming to your blog.

This process takes several hours a day to do and you need to keep good records of where you posted and the book marking sites you have posted on including dates and the exact post.

Not all your coments will be approved right away so you need to keep track of these so you can keep going back every day to check if approved.

This is benefitial to the people whos blog you comment on and to you as well as the people who visit yours and other peoples' blogs.

I hope this has been helpful,
    Steve Yakim

Wow that's a lot of useful information. Thanks for that. I'm in process of brainstorming for an eBook now actually. Using FB/Twitter etc seems like the general consensus on what to do. I'm a student so money is tight - especially with Uni. However I'm going to save up all my spare money I can in order to these adverts up and running. I'm going to learn all I can on the points you've provided; this was super helpful, thanks again.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm looking into promoting some products which is in the pipe lines, I just got to keep on top of this blog!

Haha yeah! I'm doing a lot of writing for this, and saving word docs with the page already; I just have to upload it on a specific day

Wow that's a great idea - should I just Google blogs which are in the same niche as me? e.g. "Skin care Blogs"

        Thanks a lot.

Thanks to everyone again - I never expected such an amazing reply!

Valuable tips from Marx Vergel Melencio!
If you love to write and want to help lots of people suffering from skin diseases you should definitely consider publishing your E-Book on Kindle. It will give you massive exposure plus you have a new stream of income (passive income). Apart from that you'll increase your brand awareness.

I recommend setting up a youtube channel and start making some helpful videos that are optimized properly and upload them to your youtube channel. If you make a video or two daily you will certainly increase your traffic and fan base.

Thanks. I'm considering to that; is it free to put it on Kindle platform? Thanks!

YouTube gets me a lot of traffic to my sites. Just take your content and turn that into videos. Link back to your site.
