Free report or 5 day mini course?

So... getting ready to launch here...

Last minute question... my free report "5 crucial steps every business must take to survive and thrive in this economy" is 8 pages long... instead of a free report should imake it a 5 day long mini course?

The 5 day mini course - for a number of reasons; the major one being that your list will be more responsive.

Make it a five part video series. Get people to click through to your site to watch it.

    Just to play devil's advocate...
While a 5 day video course can work wonders, be careful it doesn't come across as too spammy. I opted in for one of those not long ago and regretted it. Would have much preferred a simple report.

The reason wasn't the course itself, but the fact that by opting in to the course I got hit with about 3 more emails per day from the same person pointing to the same sales page, over and over again. Quickly became tiresome.

So if you go that route, just be careful how you handle it. Don't drive your list away.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with it being a video course.

Why not ramp it up a bit and do both. Give them the five crucial steps report and expand on it with a separate mini-course - five more crucial steps or something like that. Added (percieved) value and get your subscribers used to receiving your emails.

The benefit of the 5-part mini-course is that it gives you multiple contacts with your prospect, instead of one.

The problem is that people are impatient. They want instant gratification. As a result, they want it NOW -- not in 5 (long) days.

They are also hit with a barrage of offers. To think they're sitting there waiting for your next email is naive. By then, they may have forgotten who you are. They may have already moved on to the next "bright shiny object."

I would send them the free report with a pitch at the end. But I wouldn't stop there! You have their email address, so send them MORE valuable, related information to help establish yourself as an authority.
