Clickbank notification

When selling an affiliate product via clickbank, does the affiliate get a notification from clickbank a la you just sold this and this product? or can he only see it on the account sheet?

In my experience, I've never gotten an email notification from Clickbank when I made a sale as an affiliate. They do have a system now that's similar to PayPal's IPN and it can notify the vendor and the affiliate when a sale is made, but you'd need a script on your server to get that information and handle it however you want (log it to a database, send you an email, deliver a bonus, whatever the case may be).

Clickbank Instant Notification URL (highly optional) works only for vendors though.

Nop. At least not at this point in time. The affiliates can only see this sales in his/her account report.

Till date, I haven't got any email from CB regarding a new sale is generated.

You've to check the stats to confirm the same.

The ClickBank IPN works for both the vendor and affiliates.

You first need to enter a 'secret key' (an arbitary string of 16 characters max)

Then, you need to "apply" for the IPN access, e.g. answer "YES" to all the questions in the form. Once done, you'll be automatically approved for IPN.

Of course, you will need a script to process the data that is sent to the IPN URL.

The script (in my sig) is designed specifically for clickbank affiliates.
