Do you need your picture in your about me page?

Hi Everyone,
I never had my picture on my about me pages on my sites, but a I read on a couple of other sites that your picture is a must. Ok fine with me, I have now started putting my picture on my "about me" pages. Does a picture really make a difference? Is it only a certain type of website that warrants a picture? Thanks!

Does make a difference. If someone is wanting to do something with me, I go to their site or blog. If I don't see a face, I'm not as eager to work with them. I like to know who I'm dealing with.

My 4 year old son knows who Kevin Riley is when he sees on my computer screen. He calls Kevin by name.

I explain to him that Kevin lives in Japan and how he can also eat good food like the ones we read on Kevin's blog.

    I use pictures/photos EVERYWHERE.

It's true that pictures speak 1000 words. It totally makes you more approachable to all those that are already interested in what you have to say (because they are already on your blog/sales page etc) which can only be a good thing.

Yes, a face does build trust. Just like placing a 0800 phone number.

A picture is a powerful means of adding a personal touch to a particular page. It makes things more real, if you will - you immediately see that you are interacting with a live human being with a personality. Also, I believe it's a good attention-catching technique.

Use them. But instead of only putting one on your about page, how about using the blog/site header?

I always remember people's sites when there is an author picture involved. Guys like Russell Brunson, Perry Marshall, Yaro Starak use them very effectively.
