I personally use GoDaddy. If you google you can always find a great voucher code for them. The last domain I got was only £1!

Better to keep an eye on all domain name under one chart, so that you don't forget to renew them.

  Any domain re-seller is a great option; Godaddy, Namecheap, Etc.
  
  Tip: Use retailmenot to find special deals or discounts or a simple google search would suffice as well

Godaddy has been the best for us. Little secret when you buy them goto google and google godaddy promo codes. It could save you alot of $$

I find that just about any seller is good, if it is your first time, google for .50 domains and you will be able to get your domain for .50 on Register.com, 1and1.com, or .99 at Godaddy.com. Personally, I have bought domains this way, then when it is time to renew tham I move them over to Godaddy, using a sale for 20-30% off. Every little bit helps, and it is always fun getting a bargain.

Definitely Namecheap. I don't like Godaddy's checkout process - they are trying to sell you lots of addons. Also, the private registrations (whois cover) with Godaddy are quite expensive comparing to Namecheap.

  Namecheap.com I would say it the best that I have used for the time I have been online. I have tried a dozen of domain registrars, but in the end, name cheap beats them all in terms of convenience and ease of use, check out and reputation

  I use name cheap, but the recent change to the site is lousy. I kept typing in a name and the dot coms came up make an offer if it was taken ?
  The new layout looks cheap. Hope they don't continue this path looked like they are starting to go down hill. I was actually considering finding another place to look for domains.

I have always been a fan of Godaddy for domains. I get good customer service, and then I use a separate service for hosting. I do not like their hosting service, but I have all my domains through them, and then I can manage the name servers and such with ease. If I have issues they are always available by phone 24/7.
