Monetizing a Well-Trafficked Niche Site

I created a niche site a year ago, populated it with well-written content, and basically left it alone since with monthly updates. It's already monetized through AdSense and Amazon Affiliates and it's been doing quite well with those, adding up to around $1,300 a month.

Over the past few months, the site's traffic has been growing steadily and it's now at around 40,000 UV per month and I feel like I'm under-monetizing the site considering the traffic but I'm unsure of how to go about optimizing revenue. I'm hoping someone on the forum more experienced can help me out.

I'm thinking private advertisers, but am unsure what the best option for that would be. Do I contact companies I think would be interested in my niche or do I use something like Buy Sell Ads? I'm also thinking of creating an information product on this niche. Lots of ideas but unsure which may be the best one.

Suggestions would be really, very welcome. Thanks!

That's really good income for a 1 year old site, congrats! I have 2 sites that are 1 year old not making that much. I'm only monetizing with amazon. What kind of site do you have, just information content? Reviews?

How targeted is your traffic for your affiliate offers? That plays a big roll in conversions.

Thanks! This one's doing quite well - my other 1-year-olds are underperforming
It's mostly information content - like, 95% of it and the rest is reviews. It's in the health niche and there are enough affiliate stuff to link out to so that's good and conversions don't seem to be too bad.
I just know that I'm wasting what could be good ad space. I've neglected this site for the past several months and would like to spend some time really drawing the most out of it. Any suggestions?

You could link to health related clickbank products in your website sidebar?

Find a few really good products and it could potentially work...

You could also add affiliate products in your niche from networks outside of Amazon to add variety. Commission Junction has all sorts of options, and with the traffic you're getting you'll have no issues being approved.
