Advice on PLR products

I currently run a relationship advice blog and was thinking of buying a PLR eBook to give away as incentive to join my mailing list. Good or bad idea? And where would you suggest I buy PLR relationship advice ebooks from?

I think that is a good idea.

Use google to find a PLR eBooK.
You can also look here bigproductstore.com and when you find something a can sell it to
    you. Just let me know.

But take care to make a own good looking eCover.

It is a great idea to use a PLR ebook as a giveaway product. You just need to make sure the PLR product has giveaway rights when you purchase it.

With a quick Google search, I found these links...

Relationship PLR | Dating PLR | Relationship PLR eBooks

Relationships Ebook, Relationships PLR Ebooks, Relationships PLR, Relationships Ebooks - PLR Ebooks

    Dating and Relationships PLR ebooks

...and that's the first few links.

I hope this has been helpful,

It's a good idea if you re-brand it and make it your own. New graphics, new title, re-work the content, add an "about me" page at the beginning of the report, links to your products or sites, etc.

Of course, it goes without saying, choose good quality content. Tiffany Lambert comes to my mind, and you can check her site here: www.plrminimart.com - She has some good content covering your niche.

In my view, this is the best advice. I think PLR is a plague upon the land. Google had to institute Panda/Penguin/Hummingbird to purge the rankings of PLR and other low quality articles. However, if you are going to use the stuff, Chad is right. Do everything possible to mask the fact the ebook is PLR.

Agree and agree. PLR as a giveway just makes sense. BUT to ensure your own integrity, don't just grab the first pack you find. Take the time to read the product, get really good content that is actually relevant to your list.
Sure its a bit more time consuming up front, but will lead to a lot more loyalty from your subscribers and prospects.

It's a really good idea! Try to find good stuff and your ROI will be IN-CRE-DI-BLE!

You can find good "free" sites with PLR or at least try "X" days for free.

Take your time reading every TARGETED PLR you download before give it for free to ensure the High Quality (Not all the PLR provide good value).

    Cheers!

Its not a bad idea, you can find high quality plr products around but my suggestion is that you rewrite it a lil bit to distinguish yourself from the crowd.

Don't offer it "as is", am pretty sure there are other people using those same plr material around, instead make some modifications.. be original!

Make sure the information is "fresh" and not outdated.

I'm pretty sure the following opinion is NOT going to gain much popularity amongst the "battle-hardened" warriors of this forum...

However, I shudder at the thought of advising the use of PLR as lead magnet material - in particular for beginners.

      Here's 3 reasons why...
      1. It creates an expectation of ease.
This blew up in my face when I first got started in IM. I wasted a lot of time in pursuit of the "easy way".
Think of it...product already created, no extra work required and a thought process along the lines of, "Well, I know very little about the niche I've chosen and I really don't want to put in a few hours of blood, sweat and study - how can I establish myself as an authority or at the very least, as a leader?" Answer - A good ol' PLR report.
More often than not, this won't cut it. Not in 2014.

      2. Poor follow-up and response rate
As a beginner, if you've resorted to PLR as a lead magnet, chances are you're not all that knowledgeable about your chosen niche. Sure, you may have an interest and desire to learn more but if that lead magnet was a "piece-of-", you've just battered and bruised the trust of your new audience...and it's a sure bet, they will not open any of your follow-up emails or will flat-out unsubscribe.

      3. It can be a huge time-suck
If you have even a sliver of conscience, you'll aim to make it the highest quality and informative lead magnet for your potential audience. But this is gonna require a bit of a certain four letter word. A word that makes some on this forum tremble at the knees...work.

Your going to have to search high-and-low to find quality PLR, you'll want to research and verify the accuracy of the information, restructure the content to best suit the needs of your audience, rewrite portions of it to inject some personality, rework the graphics etc...It can be a huge time suck.
And in the end, you've probably learnt very little.
Now don't get me wrong, I understand the appeal of PLR. It's quick, easy and done for you. But in the end...

You end up cheating nobody but yourself

Cheating yourself from the confidence that comes from providing value and being authentic. Cheating yourself of experiences and unique insights into your market. And ultimately cheating yourself of the "cold-hard-cash" that only a highly valued audience can provide.

PLR content is just like any other online business tool... it has it's own set of pros and cons, and whether you benefit from it, and how much you benefit from it, depends on how you use it.

That is one approach to using PLR content. Here's another one. You don't want to write your own content... for whatever reason. You don't have the budget to outsource your content creation. So, instead, you get PLR content.

Here's another approach... you have a fair amount of knowledge, you're just not very good at writing.

You would do that anyway, even if you wrote the content yourself. The benefit of PLR content, is that it provides you with a starting point... and that, saves time.

PLR content is not for everyone. However, that doesn't mean that there is no value in using PLR content.

Here are some relationship PLR products:
          Relationship Plr

I would advise you to modify, rewrite the content as much as you can and add your own personality to the product, change the graphics, rewrite the salespage in order to stand out from the crowd. I hope it helps.

After you purchase a PLR relationship niche product, you'll want to take time to customize it to your own audience. The content of the ebook might not really fit with your crowd, so tweak the pages with information directly from your own site. Since this is a give away product that you're not trying to rank, it will be OK to include copied content from your own site. Make sure to include links back to your own site pages, referencing specific blog posts which solve problems mentioned in the book. Hopefully, the ebook giveaway will become viral and your subscribers will spread the word about your site.

I would look on this site first. There is some decent PLR being sold everyday as a WSO.

There are some good PLR websites out there, but many of them sell stuff that's really outdated. So just check with the website admin about how new the content is you want to buy before you do so.

PLR product is a good way for startups. For starters, you do not need to create your own product as it needs extra effort. For PLR products, what you need is to refine what already exists.

PLR is a good tool. Having said that be sure to rewrite even the best PLR. You want a product that is yours. Something that instills confidence in your customers.

You may wish to hire someone to write your book for you. You want something that is unique, something you could be proud to put your name on.

You must re-write what ever PLR you end up getting-change the title, get new graphics and actually go into it and re-write it. Just use it as a beginning point-too many people grab a PLR product and just try to re-sell, this is lunacy, because 9/10 it is pretty scrappy and written by non-english speakers (cheap writing services) so if you want something of quality, and to impress your customers-make it a good ebook. 'The Unselfish Marketer' is an excellent source of PLR.

  • Just posted this on another thread about PLR so thought I'd help out here as well

I used to use resell-rights-weekly.com (I think it was a .com but a quick google should find it) They have a massive collection in there for a monthly or weekly fee to keep access to it all. Yes you can get a small discount by signing up through peoples links on here if you really want to but it's hardly worth it for the tiny discount you receive.

There are also sites like 250products.com that offer a load of PLR or MRR products for a really low price as well.

Just make sure you rewrite any PLR you get as it has probably been used before and it just makes you stand out if it has that personal touch in it as well.

    Hope that helps

Definitely a good idea... IF you edit the product and make it your own (change the title and graphics). Our members that go the extra mile and edit our products (not just in the relationship niche, but all niches) are the ones that get the best results!

Very good idea. You can never go wrong by giving away something for free. Building an email list is also very smart and will help you generate more money from your readers.
