You said a couple of things that caught my attention. First,
Quote:
seemed highly probable that I could convert these information seekers into buyers.
If you continue to try to do this, you'll continue to have the same results. Why aren't you looking for the buyers?

You say you did a lot of keyword research. Do you know what buying phrases your potential customers are using? You might try running your keyword phrases through Microsoft's Commercial Intention tool (just google 'adlabs commercial intent').

Quote:
since my readers expect me to be happy go lucky and positive all the time, I don't want to risk losing any of them
Just a thought - you ever consider that your readers might like to see that you're human and not a happy-go-lucky positive robot? There's nothing wrong with expressing a little frustration occasionally

If you have an optin page with a down loadable offer, you can quickly start building a list with a giveaway.... Keep in mind that when you reach a list of 500 people you are in a different level of business where you can JV in email swaps....

Giveaways are a great place to start building to get to that level and you can get to that level within a couple of months or less....

Hope this helps....?

I would post something of value here, but I am still laughing at Jason's comment... LOL. So sorry.

Obviously Jason, you didn't believe you would receive the snow cone machine.

Hi Wahgypsy,

Now firstly, I not an expert or anything but from reading your post and everyone else comment is seems like you're one of those peep who are destined and definitely will succeed - so keep at it.

I personally started IM last year and at first it was 100% effort - 0% return for a number of months so I can totally understand the issue. I have also run and operated a lot or various offline business opportunities and still do testing them out.

My advice is this (if you can regard it as that) and that is to keep going, have faith and that

Firstly you need to plan - a great business starts with some planning, to set goals that are achievable and don't think immediately about making so and so much money by this month or deadline, instead think about taking steps closer towards achieving that goal, in your case, sales and money and more clients.

Imagine your business as a flight of stairs, to reach the top, you start from the bottom step and then you take each step, one at a time which bring you closer to the top until you reach the landing.

So planning is a good start, set out what you want to achieve and then how or what you need to do to achieve it - then you need the next part...

that is to work smart not hard.

The reason being that by working smarter, you get more things done, and you won't overstress yourself. A good tip would be to make a to do list each night on what you have to do the next day.

Now, I also wanted to ask you whether your blog is about IM or Private Investigation as "Branding" is very important.

If you can established yourself as a PI on you blog, and on that blog, put PI related articles, as well as a page about what qualifications related to PI you have would be of great credibility.

People nowadays are very nosey and if you can make yourself regarded as a guru, expert or somebody with impressive knowledge or experience in that niche, it makes people pay more attentions.

Plus trust is very important, you need to exude trust, confidence, and demonstrate it on your blog and whatever you do.

If you can also link you blog or website to other related sites, create what other warrior forums have been telling you about backlinking then that would be most beneficial.

Additionally, I'm assuming your on twitter, then make yourself known on there too, get a twitter page with your blog/wesbite link and a quick 10-20 word decription about what you do.

The key is you need to brand yourself, assert authority in your niche, make yourself a force to be known with and Network.

Networking is expecially important, whether that be online or offline / direct face 2 face or online social networking - you need to be heard and known.

Now, since you write and have a talent for writing, it would be best interest to offer a free report or preview report and get potential individual who are interested to join your list.

Once they are on, you can start building trust by creating a online email newsletter which can be delivered through autorresponder follow up messages.

Occassional drop a link here and there about a product, maybe devote one issue of the weekly email ezine newsletter to a product review, preferably a product that you are an affiliate of.

Don't try to hard sell them but instead soft sell, i.e. drop subtle hints about, using the above product review method.

Oh and I would advise on not doing the Google PPC, it's a nightmare if you don't havea sales page which converts as many fellow warrior members have stated.

In the meantime, it might better to stick with your article marketing, and perhaps make a few videos to promote your product or serivces and upload them onto youtube.

You can create a video just using a webcam or a digital camera with video record function, or just even with your mobile phone and then upload it to Youtube, or you may wish to edit it in Windows Movie Maker software and then upload it to Youtube.

Anyway, I hope I haven't offended you or anyone

Best wish with your business and promotion

Most people quit right before they make it. You need to find a coach or mentor to guide you along a successful trail. Remember, success leaves cues. Follow those who have done it before you and pick up the clues they leave behind!

Hi Matt,

I'm in the same situation. How do you find 'a starving crowd'. Could you please elaborate on this please?
