How To Promote Large Event / Concert Online?

I'm sending in a proposal to do the online marketing for a huge event/concert here in my country. I've already gotten a budget and all they need now is my proposal.

I plan on growing their email list and social media fan base. Basically getting a bigger audience for them to market to. I figure it's better to base my success on that kind of growth, rather than on sales growth since they will be doing other forms of marketing to increase sales.

I'm just not sure if I should tell them that I will grow their audience by a certain amount. That's difficult to estimate because thats based on the cost of a conversion which is not something I have experience with (at least in that market). How could I come up with a figure?

So tell me what your thoughts are.

1. What would you want your success to be based on?
2. What would you charge?
- would you charge a flat fee?
- would you charge a percentage of ad spend?
3. Would you get into how to communicate with the list? Or should I just focus on growing the list?

If you are confident about your expertise & skill, you can go with a "as it goes contract".
You start with a small payment, and as their audience grows, your payments grow.

If you just want to "go in and go out": make a nice proposal promising a lot of visitors, etc... ask a lot of cash, and if it doesn't work out at least you tried

It really depends on what you want

I'm confident I can deliver what they need. What is important is that we agree upon something and I deliver. So what I'm asking about is what should I promise them. I was hoping that someone with experience with this type of situation would chime in...

Whatever you do you can guarantee the numbers will be less than you quote. Using targeted Facebook ads is a good value option, buying banner ads on major music blogs, industry sites (Even Rollingstone) if this is an international event you want to get the word out. i would not specify numbers, just speak of 'significant music lover interest' or words to that effect which resonate with Jamaican music folks. Best of luck!

My issue isnt really with what to do for them. I'm really just trying to figure out what I should promise them.

If my performance was strictly based on sales, then it would be easy and clear cut. But because tickets are sold at ticket outlets, and they would have no way of knowing what percentage of those sales were a result of my campaigns, I need to promise them something else.

I figure social media growth is a good promise but it's difficult to come up with a specific number...
