Help Me Understand This...Please!
I've read numerous threads about people's articles being stolen, and though that is the core of this message, it goes a bit deeper.
I just noticed a small spike in sales on a CB product I wrote a review for over 2 years ago. In the interest of seeing where my articles/keywords ranked in the SERP's, and to see where the spike in 'sales' came from...I stumbled upon a slightly 'altered' version of my original review.
Now it's all fine and dandy some idiot decided to just steal my review article and add one word into my title and sub-headings, and changed the aff links to land himself on page 1 (*position 3), while my article is also on page 1... and holding in the 2nd position .
While I am actually quite flattered considering the original article ranks on page 1 for multiple keywords, and his only shows up on certain keyword terms (due to the change in the title).
Here's my confusion...
How is it, my 'original' article pre-dates the stolen article by nearly a year, and yet this guy re-used the 'stolen' review to land 3 spots on page 1, to my 1 spot for a specific keyword?
Another words, there is a total of (4) of MY REVIEW ARTICLES all on Page 1 of 'G' , and somehow the 3 (*stolen versions) and (1) my original work are basically the same damn article.
Doesn't 'G' see they are the same [exact] articles, less the slight change in the title and changes in the AFF links?
Honestly, I may have just learned something from this, and if this is permissable and can 'fool' the almighty 'G' whereby this guy used 3 different free sites (i.e. blogger, webs, and weebly) to achieve this... Hell, I can too. *Of course, I mean using MY OWN ARTICLES!
Lastly, how do I get this guy's articles removed?
- I tried doing a whois search for contact info, but apparently it doesn't work on sites like blogger, etc...
