Dot US Domain - Can an Aussie get?

Hi,

I'm an Australian citizen, live in Australia, no US connection, except I want to sell there. How strict are the rules regarding registering a dot US domain name? I've read only US citizens or organizations can obtain them, but will it be policed? Thanks.

Domain names are available on the open market. Although USA does have some pretty stringent import controls to prevent fair trade with foreign countries, I believe the need for exports will overcome all barriers.

Go to your local registrar and see what he can offer.

Actually, we (= internetmarketingstudent and I) can NOT register .us domains. He's Australian and I am Canadian.
