Getting JV's for a *controversial* site...?

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some in-depth input.

My new website (in my sig) is very controversial, and I'm not sure how I should go about getting joint venture partners to promote it. It's almost like I would be helping their subscribers a little bit *too* much - you'll probably see what I mean once you go there.

So...what do you think should be done to accomplish this? (DETAILS please!)

Im not really sure what your site offers at first glance and without a pre-sell i wouldn't have a clue.

I would suggest putting a video at the start of no longer than 5 minutes explaining your sales page in short.

Also if your looking for JV partners or affiliates or whatever then make a section on it saying you are (just a link at the bottom) then you may attract some people. But from what i see it is just a free membership into some program to get you some opt-in's and they get free information.

It's very simple. Explain to and make sure your prospective joint venture partners understand that by sending you traffic, that they are setup to make a healthy amount of money from nearly zero effort or work on their part.

But in all honesty, it seems like this post is a little bit *too* much self-promotional. I'll probably see when I go there that it's insanely targeted to the members of this forum, and that you should instead offer quality posts to get your sig traffic.

I'm pretty sure you already know how to get JV's. If not, there's plenty of info out there for a smart guy like you with a squeeze page like that.

I'm sure someone is going to report you, though.

I do post here occassionally, but I did want some quick advice, so I made this thread to get that. I'm not too interested in "promoting" my site here, I just wanted advice.

Why do you want a JV anyway? If you believe your concept is a good one why not push it along with the passion that inspired you in the first place and reap the rewards yourself?

As a person who gets JV requests just about every single day I can tell you that my number one concern is not the "healthy amount of money" I'm about to receive for promoting.

I want to make sure that my customers are getting a valuable product, and that those leads will be taken care of in the future. I don't want them sold off to some "Call Service" in Utah, and I surely don't want them to be entered into a cesspool giveaway that's full of below average marketers a month later.

I also want to know without a shadow of doubt that you are truly profiting from your system and it's replicable for my people.

And I don't want to have to read your entire product to come to this conclusion.

Money is a big factor, but in no way is the main motivating factor for me. I care more about how useful the product or service is over money.

I'd rather promote something and not make a dime but have happy customers then make $10,000 and have people feel like they got burned.

The Leader, the main reason I'm looking for partners is that unfortunately I don't have the free time to use the information that I've amassed. However, in sharing it, everyone could benefit greatly.

Good point, Jason. As I implied before, it's not about the money, it's about helping your contact base. My problem is that I'd be helping them so much that they wouldn't "need" the "gurus" anymore, if that makes sense...which is the main reason I'm trying to find out how I should deal with a controversial product such as mine.

Well bro, that's all fine and dandy in theory, but we both know that your product doesn't cover every single aspect in marketing.

And even if it is all that you crack it up to be, many of the "gurus" you speak of could offer valid info to take it to an entirely different level. There is always room for improvement and expansion.

Also, when people say they don't have time for this massive money making system it tends to make my BS radar tilt to full. Instead it usually means to me that there is too much work involved and you don't want to do it.

Now I'm not saying that is the case with your product, but just giving honest feedback on how it looks from my point of view. And your dilemma at the moment seems to be convincing guys like me that what you say is the truth.

So, I'd personally tone down the hype about not needing another guru again because many people here have fond feeling or memories about their favorite guru. Call it an allegiance if you like. Of course there are just as many who despise these guru's too, but they tend to be very weak prospects to market to.

Also, by positioning yourself and your product in a manner that the guru's will never again be needed, then you are maybe limiting yourself from getting some good JV's.

Just something to think about.
