Amazon Su?%!s! - Took away my referral fees

Hi, I joined the Amazon Associates program at the beginning of May. I worked a lot on promoting my website and earned about $46 which is not that much but good for a start. Then today I look at my account and see this:

"During the month of May, incorrect balances were displayed in your earnings report on Associates Central. This was caused by a system error that resulted in an inaccurate display of additional referral fees. The error has been fixed and your earnings summary now shows accurate referral fees. We apologize for the confusion our mistake may have caused you."

This "accurate referral fees" means that I earned $0. Do you think they can do this? Just take away commission?

If it is true what they say about the errors, I don't see how you can call them your commissions if they were not truly yours to begin with, correct?

It's like a bank error showing you with extra money in your account that shouldn't be there, but since it's there it must be yours. Not.

    Sorry,

I got the same notice. Amazon took half my sales!!?! I've been with them over 5 years. Don't tell me this is just OK. This is my living. Where do I report this theft?

They can do whatever they want since there is no way you can prove they're wrong. That's what sucks about doing affiliate stuff...
