Stock Images and About Me Page

Hey guys,

For those of you who use Angela's backlink packets, you will know that for many of the sites linking back to an about me page on your site is the best option.

Now obviously for those who operate under a pen name for whatever reason aren't going to use their real photo either.

Are you allowed to use stock images instead?

I read through sxc.hu's terms of use and I couldn't really see a clear cut answer.

Hopefully someone hear will be able to shed some light..

The reason I recommend an "About Me" page on your site is for sites like .Edu and .Gov sites and some other types of sites that if you were to put a link to ANYTHING of a 'commercial' nature, you would be seen as a spammer. There are some sites that you just HAVE to use compassion and sensitivity when using the sites. There was one site in a packet a few months ago that was set up for people recovering from addictions. A "commercial" page being linked there just would NOT have "fit".

You don't have to have a photo of yourself. You can take pictures of your city, stuff you might collect, your pets, whatever. Just make it personal to you. I would NOT recommend using a "stock" photo. The idea is that this page is STILL connected to your site and you will still get a backlink without offending anyone.
