Hello fellow internet marketers,

I'm a newbie marketer with very little experience. However, I have a big problem that I need your help with.

I just launched a fitness based website earlier this week. It's a great website with excellent fitness advice and content (I am a personal trainer and I started the site to promote clickbank fitness products). The problem is simple-- I just do NOT know how to get traffic to my site. I am SUPER motivated, and I want to attract a large volume of traffic to the site and start making $ from my affiliate commissions.

My business model is simple. The website has a section on product reviews, which is where I write honest, detailed reviews on many popular (hot selling) clickbank weight loss products--that's where I make the $.
I need help, because I just don't know how to drive the traffic. I strongly believe that my site is really good, and with continuous blogging and having great content on the site, I have what it takes to attract a lot of visitors, but the problem is in my marketing. I just DON'T KNOW HOW to drive traffic to the site, and without that, I will fail regardless of how good the site is.

My current strategy is very lean. Instead of spending money on SEO or paid traffic, I have been sharing my website domain link on the facebook wall of many fitness sites. After a weekend of promoting this way, we have received only 10 FB likes, and I have been banned/suspended from both facebook and Twitter. I was also thinking of hiring an SEO guy on e-lance to help me rank in the search engines, but it's just risky to spend a lot of $ and not be guaranteed any return. I am not afraid to spend $, I just want to make sure that I am making a good decision before hand, and I need your expert advice on this one.

The same thing happened with twitter. I was advertising my link for no more than 15 minutes and my account became suspended almost instantly, which sucks.

Guys, I need help. I have a solid website with excellent content that many people can benefit from, but I just can't drive traffic to the site, and my entire livelihood is based on making the IM thing work. Please help me. All comments are welcome . I didn't know if I would get banned from the warrior forum for posting the link to my site so you all could check it out, but I am more than happy to provide it if anyone wants to see it. Thank you so much!

Yea posting your domain link without actively contributing will get you banned in most places. Do it in a subtle way and it can still work, but usually it won't "drive" traffic but instead result in just a few visitors.

It suggest trying to find a partner to do long term work with you, "just hiring on elance" is usually best for jobs that are means to an end versus long term continual work. Plus Seo work on elance is risky if your not experienced.

Here is my advice for you: Keep writing and regularly updating your website with HIGH QUALITY unique original content that people would love to read. Eventually the search engines will begin to give you traffic and regular visitors of your site will promote your website FOR YOU.

Can you elaborate on the above? Were you spamming via direct message?

      Hi Reboot,

No I never tried direct messaging, basically I was following a ton of weight loss and fitness people, then I sent out a tweet with my link and tagged a bunch of fitness sites and I got suspended right away.

if you're a personal trainer and in good shape, start a youtube channel like Mike Chang or Scoobie. Give a ton of exercises. If you do it right, you will become a celebrity authority and do really well.

Don't do the bullshit like spamming and other short term get rich quick type things. If you are a personal trainer, use it to your advantage.

Despite what others tell you on this forum, seo is a very long term strategy that changes all the time especially in the fitness niche.

I recommend the above strategy, but I really think if your serious you should consider buying traffic too.

What's the best way to buy traffic? Will I earn profit? (i.e. make more from buying traffic than the cost of the traffic?)
