Man motivation isn't the word for it.. I started something a while back that isn't completed.

I've got to go build a forum for it now, still have to do over 2 hours of screen recordings.. Another good few pages of an ebook.

I've got to keep up my SEO or I risk losing my increasing rankings.

I've got lots to do, but those calcualtions are bugging me.. really bugging me.

What do you mean the calculations are bugging you? What calculations?

If it is "physical" hard work that you are not interested in, hire someone who will do it for you, that is if you can afford it. No one man can run an entire business online, outsourcing work that takes time is part of your success.

If it's work that only you can do, get a hobby, like practicing a sport or whatever. It usually helps for motivation

How do you know that you know how to make 40K? Unless you give it a try you really don't know. Ideas are great nut unless you test it out, you really don't know if the idea is a dud. So, the bottom line is if you can generate ideas frequently you are already one notch ahead. Now test them out. If one in 10 succeeds, you are set.

Also for each 100 people it would mean £1000 per month residual income..

That's my calculations, but my calculations for time to do the work, isn't what I'd like it to be.

Start. I feel about twice my age saying this and its one of the oldest cliches in the book but every journey of 1000 miles start with a single step.

Go do one thing towards it. Make the forum. Build some backlinks. Write some content. Just keep moving towards your goal. Don't let the size of it grind you down, just keep chipping away at it every day.

I can relate to your motivation difficulties. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming. While outsourcing can solve your time problems, it doesn't help with motivation or organization. In these circumstances, an online business partner might be the answer for you. I suspect that has been the solution for many who are now successful.

This is a common problem faced by Internet Marketeers. At what point do you move from a soler trader into an entreprenuer and start rolling out your business concepts into a franchise, which is essentially what you are hoping to do by helping another 100 people earn 40K. My suggest is to hand over your current workload to another tursted individual or outsource some of your link building or content creation. This will free up your time to develop your longer term business strategy. You have to delegate, it's as simple as that, but bear in mind that know one will complete the work to the same standard as you.

First up.. Stop asking yourself those questions. You're not in the right mindset. Until you change the questions you're asking your mind to solve, you'll continue to come up with the same things.

Look at your first question:

"Why can't I sit back and do everything.. polish it off to perfection and start making my 40k.."

You're asking yourself to think of all the things that are stopping you from succeeding. Guess what? Your mind is giving you the answers.

How do you "sit back" yet "do everything"? It's a confusing question, isn't it?You're probably feeling just as confused or "rapped-up".

Besides, perfection is not up to you. Leave the decision of what's perfect and what's not to your customers.

You could change the outcome of things by asking different questions, for one, and stop focusing on "everything". Just focus on what you can do "today".

The most important part of success is not reaching your destination, but enjoying the journey. Enjoy the ride. Make it fun!

To change your mindset to a more positive one, you might ask yourself the following questions instead, and allow your mind to come up with the solutions:

"What things can I accomplish today?"
"How can I think more clearly?"
"How can I add more value to my product today?"

Hope this gets you moving in a more productive and fun direction

Calculating what you "can do" is planning. Calculating what you "have accomplished" is where the real numbers are. Your calculation of monthly residual per person is quite high so I would expect a lot of work to be involved.

How do you "sit back" yet "do everything"?

You don't. The sitting back comes AFTER you have done all the work, the money is flowing in and everything is working as you planned (calculated).
It's easy to run numbers on paper - but they mean nothing until they translate into dollars in the bank account.

  My friend gave me this book called, Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck, PhD
  
  I don't know if you're completely turned off to these books but it is an eye opener. It's way study based similar to Influence by Chaldini... but it will help you look at why you do what you do and why you don't do.
