Are there affiliates for wholesale businesses?

We have a product that we need to get in front of retailers. Our starting prices are $400 and above. Some accounts can go up to $10,000 a month and thats not uncommon. Were thinking of doing a 15% upfront (maybe more) and a 6-8% re-occuring on new orders to affiliates. (we even upsell clients and affiliates will get that commission. We also send out free overnight samples to retailers, follow up with them, so we offer a lot of creative things to help close the sale. Very large market.. we have craigslist ads closing big deals so its not difficult to find these people and close deals.

We have found many websites that have large databases of retailers so we could almost approach some people and ask them to run some email campaigns and potentially make a lot of money.

My question is do affiliates run campaigns for companies that are not just online? Someone can call and order, fax, and order through our online platform. Im wondering if affiliates will be worried about running traffic to our site, someone calling us, and the affiliate not getting the commission. At the same time a company like host gator has a number right there, clearly not relevant at all, but affiliates could be losing commission as well if they receive order over the phone.

Can anyone give me some insight, i think there is huge potential for affiliates to make an honest living from being an affiliate for us, especially considering the attractive high residuals. Can anyone give me any insight on what to expect or if this will even be possible? Again some people may never buy online so not sure how that gets tracked.. maybe not possible.

    I don't know much about the setting up the affiliate program from your side. Commission Junction has a lot of physical products and retail strores in their affiliate program.

    The big thing with physical affiliate products is a delay in closing the order, delivery and possible returns all adding time between the time the affiliate sends the lead and the affiliate gets paid. So the details of how everything works will be important to affiliates.
