Newcomer-Advices and Tips To Build My List

I started making my first steps in internet marketing recently.

I already have my Squeeze Page with a autoreponder on but no lead yet.

Any ideas where to start and how??

I'm a little confused:confused: what kind of traffic source I use, as are many. I do not know if I should start by forums, facebook, articles, etc..

Any help is welcomed.

thank you
Vasco

    Vasco,

    Please clarify.

You say you have a squeeze page. What does it lead to? What type of offer are you trying to entice people with?

As for your traffic sources, the ones you mention all work great for driving traffic.

The main question would have to be: Niche?

Another traffic source is blog commenting.

Find the popular blogs in your niche. Make a spreadsheet to record them when you find them or use a program such as Feedly.com to get automatic updates.

Keep up to date with what is happening in your niche and post worthwhile comments on blogs as well as forums which you have already mentioned.

My niche is "how to create a online business"

My question is how the best way to start? what should I do in first place?

I really want to understand and try to treat my list well.

      Thanks

Not to kick up a fuss here (seeing as I joined this month!) BUT if you're creating a guide on creating an online business shouldn't you know how to create an online business.

I know I set up a post about funnels and traffic for a similar offer but I have experience in a range of other niches.

I understand your point of view.

From the little I learned and I was told we need not have extensive knowledge about the niche we chose, but rather one that has enough demand and interest.

Hence my request for help in this matter.

      Thanks for generosity

But if you're providing advice on starting an online business you should really have some form of success in doing so yourself, no?

You don't need to have extensive knowledge in it but you need to have SOME knowledge.

You need to come across to subscribers that you know A LOT about your particular niche. You say you want to create a decent list so you'll need as much knowledge as possible with people coming to you as their go-to-person.

As someone who started marketing OUTSIDE the IM niche, I'd recommend it! From my experience it's far easier to get going in niches away from IM and there's a myriad of areas you could cover.

        The concept is simple:
Pick a niche (something you enjoy and have some knowledge of), create a high quality free guide (to prove yourself), then create additional free guides (to keep subscribers happy), along with paid guides that offer further help in more specific areas of your niche, and then repeat for months to come.

Doing this you can build up quite the following of buyers who will continually purchase your products.

I'm not trying to dissuade you from the IM niche (well I sort of am), but you'll soon come across as someone who doesn't fully know everything about starting an online business and will ultimately never gain a full following.

Good luck in what you chose to do however!

          MarketingBees said it spot on.

However, what you can do, if you still want to keep your blog in the MMO niche, is to share what you learn, as you learn it.

And I disagree with the buying ads -- although it's true that buying ads gets you faster traffic, you will lose money fairly quickly without having anything yet in your funnel to make that money back.

Once you have a sales funnel up and running, driving traffic to it via ads is a good idea, as long as you're not losing money in the process!

It will be hard for you to treat your list well when you don't have any useful information to give them.

The process should be like this IME....

Traffic > content rich site (a blog for e.g.) full of great content > lots of opportunities to opt in to your list for updates > onto your list where you deliver more great content similar to as on your site mixed in with promo messages.

Sure you don't have to be the worlds expert but you would ideally know SOMETHING or go out and learn as much as you can in a short period of time OR outsource the content.

You're going to struggle to give anyone any meaningful advice on this topic when you have no knowledge on it yourself.

You're welcome. I know it's unlikely to be what you want to hear but I hope you take the advice onboard. Good luck once again!

I agree with Riki with regards to paid ads. You should focus on free traffic initially to test your squeeze page/sales pages/conversions and so on.

Then if you're successful with the traffic from free sources, scale it up to paid traffic.

Thank you for your advice and for showing me the way I should go really.

I think first I will learn a bit more about IM so I know what I own, learn more and achieve disseminate good information for my list.

Already have a squeeze page and follow up done on my autoresponder.
Can you tell me what your opinion on it?
How to create an online business - explained simply

Had not thought about the chance of a blog but I consider this situation as well.
