Can't you just register the domain name and buy hosting?

It can't be much more expensive than a 'temporary domain name' service... which I'm 90% sure doesn't exist...

You could just purchase the URL you want from Godaddy without buying hosting. Then simply forward it with masking to the actual address. This way you can have whatever you want appear in the browser bar, hiding the actual address.

      Cheers,

I think the point he's trying to make is to make it appear that a crappy free domain looks like a domain that he would actually never be able to afford, even it was available, like make money online.com. I personally don't know of such a service.

You should really consider using a paid for wordpress blog. I use yahoo webhosting and only pay about $11 per month including my domain name.

Your own blog will always look more professional and what's eleven bucks if you are going to be in this for the long run.

Buying just a domain would still cost you about eleven to fifteen bucks anyway for the first year. The price does go up every year for domain only though.

But with yahoo, the price stays almost the same every month for hosting and domain.

OfficerIM, you can using cloaking script for that purpose. You can also try tinyurl or bitly to shorten your url [it will mask the original url]
