Is Creating A Health Infoproduct Simply Too Risky?

Hey Warriors, if one were to create an infoproduct that is a solution to a health problem, for example, something like beating acid reflux naturally or even panic attacks...what things should one avoid doing or saying in order to not get in trouble with the FDA?

I know you have to be very careful not using words like "Cure" for example, but what other things should you state and not state?

I'd be curious to hear from Warriors who have been in the health niche and have more experience in this.

I'm debating if it is even worth the risk.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Tips?

Thanks!

I think there is the potential for risk, but it all depends on how you deliver the information. If your 'product' claims to be an actual solution, you're going to need to do a lot of legal homework before posting.

However, if you were simply to present information in the form of a newsletter, blog posts, and refer to relevant research, well then no issues (provided you explicitly state you're not promising results). This is done all the time, especially in blogs, where the authors post about natural remedies for everything under the sun. The trick in this case is how to monetize.

I'm actually talking about an actual infoproduct as a solution.

Offering it as an actual solution could get you into legal trouble so you have to look into that first.

I'm curious how big infoproducts like Panic Away (on Clickbank) can get away with it. He is basically selling a "solution" to panic attacks.

I'd make it very clear that you're not a doctor (if you are, I apologize) and people should consult with their personal doctors before starting any type of program to solve a health problem. Also make it clear your program hasn't been evaluated by the FDA and your product is not a cure for anything.

You cannot claim to be a cure unless the FDA finds your solution does cure the ailment. Legally the typical disclaimer is required. This is up for changes at many state levels and at the federal level too, this is a topic that is constantly quarreled about, So create a Google alert or something if you want to stay on top of it.
Here's a good example of a disclaimer: Legal Disclaimer on Online Medical Advice | Saint Louise Regional Hospital
You can also find a disclaimer on many health foods. I remember some controversy a while back about Cheerios being in trouble with the FDA for making heart healthy claims.
Whatever you decide to do, just choose a lawyer or someone similar who can give you an appropriate disclaimer and review your product for any legally troubling material.

    Hi,
When you giving solution to someone you need to be confident about you solution because its about someones health.
