Today has been a terrible day in the real world. However, coming home to my surprise I made 82$ today from one of my sites I thought was a failure. And my site that was on the thinner side that was making me money, that I thought was penalized came back onto the SERPs.

I want to add some articles to this site stat to make sure it never gets penalized and ranks for more terms.

The site is based around one product exclusively. Pretend it was on a weight loss product.

When looking for long tail keywords for page titles, should I be adding articles with keyphrases that are other variations of what people searching for that product might type in?

Ie: "does jimmys 30day diet challenge work?"
"is jimmys 30day diet challenge worth it?"

or should I target general long tail concerns in that market?

Ie: "how can I lose weight really really fast"
"what supplement plus food will make me thin now"

    Hi Alan ¨

Congrats on the $82 - unexpected, or otherwise

A short answer to your query would be "Yes" .....

You should first write for your readers. Have these at the forefront of your mind and not the search engines!

Have you ever heard the term "LSI keywords"?

If not - take a look here on Google - https://www.google.com/#q=what+are+lsi+keywords%3F I could go on all day about these otherwise *lol*

I would suggest that you do not "only", (if you feel you must), change your keywords as you have described because that is too obvious. Not that it is such a bad thing - but it is always good to mix things up a little, and it makes it easier to fatten an otherwise thin site.

It is perfectly okay to write articles about other aspects of your niche and you could, in a few articles, add an internal link to a related article on your blog. Just don't over do it.

There are so many "play on word" tactics that you could adopt - but the easiest and safest in the eyes of the search engines is to write for your readers, as stated above.

You can use Google Keyword Planner, or your own favourite keyword tool, and find long-tailed keywords related to the ones you already have. You have named a few so you know the ropes there.

A few other things you could probably do is to add a few related videos - even add your own, (then put that on youtube with links to your site, for example). Videos help keep people on your site There's a ton of stuff you could do... but to stay on track with your post... the basic answer is YES.

    Good luck!

Try adding some videos if you haven't done so already. Which reminds me, I really must record some videos for my own sites.
