Hello Everyone,

I need some suggestions on how to take my T-shirt store at Skreened forward. I created the store some 4 days back with about 12 designs and without any promotions till now, have been able to sell 2 shirts. After looking at the sales, I added about 10 designs yesterday and today. I am planning to add about 4-5 designs on a daily basis.

So here is what I am already doing -

1. I have a FB page on which I promote these designs. I have only about 40 likes on that page in past 3 days.
2. Promoting on twitter, where I have about 70 followers within 24 hours of starting.
3. Added Google analytics to shop. Findings are about 87% bounce rate from store home page.

90% of shirt designs I have should appeal to young adults crowds.

Further course of action I have planned -

1. Liase with a high Like count FB page to promote the store. I am already in talks with someone who has a FB page >500k fans majorly from US, of whih about 50% are in >18 years old.
2. Tweet twice a day at least about designs available on store. Re-tweet the tweets(unrelated) from pages with huge following, to build up my following.

Need suggestions on

1. How to improve the bounce rate.
2. The FB page I am in talks with wants $30 for a day, $200 for a week, $500 for a month - for 5 posts per day. Its too costly for me. I have like $10 to spare ATM. So, I asked him to go on a 50-50 revenue sharing, which he refused[surprisingly, since it was a better proposition, earning $5 for each shirt sold, considering 0.5% of 250k buy the shirts, thats 1200 shirts sold, 1200*5=$6000]. So I am going to test waters with $10 for one day and then scale it up. Your suggestions here..?
3. I am expecting that by the end of this week I would have about 50 designs on skreened. With increasing scale, do you think it would be better promoting a store as a whole or certain/specific designs?
4. Any suggestions on how to take marketing forward with twitter?

Surprisingly even after being only 4 days old, 95% of my traffic is coming from organic search to a couple of designs. Twitter and FB have only 5% of traffic contribution.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Wow, long post. Thanks for reading.

You make me want to start a t-shirt business. If you write a thorough e-book ill buy it from you or even your notes or business plan. I want to start a t-shirt business too.

      that'll be $100, thank you

On a serious note, it all looks good in theory. In the field the picture is entirely different.

Sounds like you are on the right track to me. Your questions should be on driving traffic to your page. Then that traffic turns into purchases and customers.

If you don't have the money to advertise, you need to take it grass roots and manually get the site out there.

Now where on the net does your potential customer hang out? Make an account on those sites. if the site will let you put your site in a sig that will be something. You may work out a banner add for $10 for so many days. Maybe you can work out a deal to make a certain number of shirts for the site to share profits in turn for a nice campaign on the site? Craigslist is another possibility. When sales come in you can reinvest in your ad campaign and sales may continue to grow.

Now I just got here so take my advise at your own risk....lol.

Alright, the Facebook trick went as a bummer. Our first post promoting a T-shirt got barely 2 likes in 15 minutes, whereas the other regular FB crap after 15 minutes went for 100+ likes and several shares in 3 minutes. So, I reckon there aren't many buyers on that teen page.

Today has been dim, not much FB activity either, twitter followers remained steady at 75 or so.

So, traffic, where do I get it. I haven't seen traffic all day to the page. Any suggestions?

I think you need to focus more on offline promo. I typed t-shirts into the search field on ebay and got almost 900,000 hits. Same thing on all the SEs. Big competition. You're a small fish in the online pond but can be a big fish in a local or regional market. Go there and once you get a little traction use it to for an online push.

Start running ads. All you're doing is free marketing (seems like mostly "social"), but no ads that can send you floods of new visitors who may be interested. Start off with Adwords and Bing Ads.
