Looking for ideas to monetize my 1st real site.

I've been a lurker here for quite a while off and on (I know this acct is new but my I've lost access to all the info from my last go at Internet marketing).

I've picked a niche I'm pretty passionate about and that by all accounts is pretty wide open (although the demand is likewise pretty limited I think). I've spent the last month and a half or two getting all the content up on the site & believe it to be complete & current as things stand now.

My next step (aside from some tweaking here & there of course) is to start figuring out how to monetize the site. My idea to build my list is to offer a free checklist of all the figures that have been released to date; to the best of my knowledge there isn't one in existence. My immediate up sell would be another list that had the same info but was also more interactive...it would link back to the figures actual page on my site, a collector could check a box indicating he owned or was looking for a figure, he could enter how many he owned, he could indicate if the one he owned was signed, etc.

Does this sound viable? Any other ideas? What else could I do to help monetize traffic to the site?

The site is: Round5Figures.com

Having a list is very important. Whatever you do, make sure building a list is a priority.

Yeah I'm definitely going to work on building the list...just not really sure what to do with it or what other monetization options might work well with what I've got.

Nice looking site.. best of luck with that. You really need to get a mailing list started. as in right above the "Follow Us" on the right side. Even if you mail 2 times a month about coming fights, the ones that have just happened, Also include the coming "Signings" and stuff like that. You want to include some kind of sale pitch in every e-mail.

You could do affiliate links to the items on Amazon and eBay.

Link the pictures from your site.

    Amazon.com : UFC Live Series 1 10-Inch Action...Amazon.com : UFC Live Series 1 10-Inch Action...

You will get pretty targeted traffic because many people coming to your site will be collecting these or looking for them.

If a particular item is not available, you can do a search on Amazon and then link to the search results with your affiliate ID like this:

Amazon.com: Round 5 UFC Ultimate Collector Series

Lots of AdSense ads show up targeting 'Round 5 Figures' so you could use AdSense and likely get targeted ads for your traffic.

    https://www.google.com/#q=round+5+figures

Many UFC products can be found with affiliate programs like The UFC Store:

You could also create T-Shirts that sell well in the UFC/MMA market and offer them to your list and traffic.
