Article Marketing - Strategy Idea

Ok, so I am sold on the idea of writing and posting articles that target long tail "niche" keywords.

The intent is to drive organic traffic to my blog's landing/money page for the keyword.

A few questions:

1. Is it better the use the original article or spun versions on sites like Vox and Squido that link back to my landing page?
2. Is it then better to use the original article (with an affiliate link or two) as the landing page or create a money page (promoting a very spfici product) as the "landing" page with nothing to do with the article?
3. Lastly, it seems like going this route (where I post the original or spun article on web 2.0 properties) will get THEM high on Google where my keyword/SEO optimized page will (at best) be under all of them. Should I care that my landing/money page isn't in the top 3 on G?

Sorry for the noob questions and yes, I know I could experiment to find this all out, but it'd be cool to hear from some grizzled IM veterans.

    Honestly, you're overthinking this...

That is my honest opinion. You're caught up in buzzwords (landing page or "money" page).

Here's what you should do with this article in specific terms.

    1. Write keyword targeted article (just use the kw a few times w/o making it look junky)

    2. Point resource box with your link at bottom of article to a SQUEEZE PAGE

    3. Squeeze page is meant to collect an email address.

    4. Market to subscribers.

It really is that simple. Bum marketing is great training but is more lucrative if you build a list of targeted customers.

    Does that make sense?

Sorry to not answer your question specifically but I think you've got a lot of "book" knowledge but are looking for what works in the real world.

    That works...I've done it.

    Cheers,
