How much is my intellectual property worth?

Hello all! I'm going to soon attempt to sell my website/intellectual property. Here is why I ask this question... I have read that usually website prices are based on lots of factors but mostly things like revenue/month, page rank, unique monthly visitors, etc. Well my webpage has none of those. But let me back up...

A few years ago I started devouring everything I could get my hands on in regards to earning income online. I studied every day while I continued to work in corporate America. I had created a couple websites that weren't doing too good but not too bad. Finally a day came when I couldn't stand working in the corporate world any longer. I quit on pure faith that I could make my Internet money dreams come true.

Now my wife does very well in her work from home photography business. And I noticed that we couldn't go anywhere without other women asking her how to get started in her "niche". That was my market research, seeing first hand that so many other stay at home mom's wanted to also do photography. I decided that would be my first real product and now I had 24 hours a day to work on it! The products are all based around earning income from Photography

-We created tons and tons of training products; eBooks, hours of videos, MP3's. Most of the videos actually show us, although some are Camtasia style also.
-I have 2 levels of upsells with lots of bonuses. Tons of valuable bonuses.
-There are 5 months of training videos for a "set timeframe membership site" also in the sales process. All the training delivery is already configured to be automated. (Think Micro-Continuity). There also strategically placed bonuses during the training to keep customers passed billing cycles.
-Everything is approved on Clickbank at various price points for testing.
-There is an affiliate page already created with banners and email templates.
-Website looks great. All E-covers look great as my wife is awesome in Photoshop.
-I believe the Sales Copy is really good. I had it reviewed by people who are Copywriters and also a few Stay-at-Home moms as I knew they were my target market. I gave a bunch of copies of the products away for free to get testimonials. So the sales copy already has written and video testimonials. The sales copy also has screen captures of my wife's QuickBooks showing all the huge checks that people give her. It's all legit.
-There is also an opt-in page with a 7 piece autoresponder already set up.

I was positioning the sales process to even have a larger upsell with seminars and possibly coaching but I never got that far.

Then, just as I started marketing it I received a job offer to go back to corporate America for a couple hundred thousand a year, and I could work from home most days - I couldn't turn it down. As much as I would like to think I will still do something with Internet Marketing, I honestly just don't have the time. I work nonstop... Today I just had the epiphany that I'm never going to get back to my IM dreams.

I would definitely consider this an "earning money" sort of product. It just happens that Photography is the "widget".

I feel like all of this content needs to be worth something? This isn't 2 weeks' worth of work here, more like 5 months' worth of work to create this content.

I know there are people out there that already have huge email lists and many business contacts that I'm sure would earn a ton almost immediately. What do you guys think? If I post my website for sale, what would you personally ask for it? I'm just not sure because everything I've read stats that most websites are valued by the things I mentioned above; revenue/month, page rank, unique monthly visitors, etc. Which again, I have none of...

I appreciate any opinions! Thanks!

Put it on Flippa and see how much they are willing to pay for it.

Have you ever seen Shark Tank? Well, let me put it to you like this...

    What are your sales?

That said, you could probably find someone to pay you for it. But, from the way you wrote your post, I am afraid you aren't going to get anywhere near what you hope to get.

Yes, I agree with you completely. Although I was listening to a "guru" talk one time and he was saying how he just paid $10K for someone else's membership site because he wanted the year of content the guy created. He knew it would be "turn key" for his existing list.

Also I have seen on Shark Tank, the investors do value intellectual property if it comes in the form of Patents, etc... Obviously I don't have a Patent on my website but it does have real content not created by a cheap ghostwriter. I'm not putting much value on the website, I'm more interested in the value of the Content.

      Hope that makes sense. Thanks!

It would be a lot more valuable if you had solid sales figures. But it is a business in a box, if you will. The only problem is that you are trying to sell potential instead of what is. Good luck.

This might be a totally random idea - but if you can't get a buyer for the amount of money that you want, you might want to consider selling PLR rights to the entire thing to everyone, and make your money that way.

"The Real Guys" - Eric Holmlund, Paul Counts, and Jeff Wellman just did a similar thing with their "Fitness Firesale."

They bought a guy's stuff - all his ebooks, courses, etc, and sold it as PLR to everyone and anyone, with upsells and downsells.

Hey, maybe approach them with your work.
