Dwolla vs. PayPal

We all use/d PayPal, and we have both bad and good experiences with it. I recently came across Dwolla and read about it.
Has anyone used it and is it comparable to PayPal?

      I looked extensively into Dwolla last year, and it's a solid platform.

      It has one gigantic problem though... PayPal is too widespread to take it over. Convincing your payment receiver (or sender) to open a Dwolla account when chances are that he's already using PayPal extensively is very difficult.

    Use paypal. Its already too big of a company. Even ebay uses Paypal for transactions.

      Yes, Ebay actually owns Paypal. This is why it is difficult to come up with viable alternatives when people ask about "other options" than Paypal or Ebay. The company is gigantic- they've built a brand and people trust them. I used to use Paypal and Google Checkout (this is GOOGLE mind you!) and VERY FEW customers chose Google. Stick with Paypal if at all possible. It will help in you in terms of sales

    PayPal is the best because it has an Adaptive API plus most of the store chains around us have a PayPal option on their credit card machine.

    So, PayPal is really getting known by the general public and they are not afraid to use PayPal.
