Creating an email list from ebay sales?

Hi

Could be a bit of a cheeky question, but im new to marketing and the whole 'email list' is a bit daunting.

Anyway, i have been running a business on ebay for a few years, a clothing business. I have had over 15,000 sales.

I am just wondering if i would be able to export those email addresses from sales to kick start an email list for a potential IM career and campaign?

OR is this wrong?

Thanks all..

London WAR.

As long as you have permission from these people, you can add them to auto responder (Aweber / Get response) etc and offer them more related products.

If they had a good experience with you, they will buy again and again from you!

it's just fraction of getting them engaged with your products.

When I was a heavy Ebay seller I included a thank you card with the items, on the card was additional information on how to contact me or find more products I had for sale. Perhaps this is something you can do to funnel your Ebay customers to a website where you can then tag them for an opt-in list.

Good advice, but i suppose my IM goal is to do something completed unrelated to the products im selling on ebay.

For example i sell clothes on ebay but my IM journey will be either some kind of CPA or a empower/Mobe type thing?

      Cheers

Yeah, just make sure they opt in first. I've seen a lot of complaints on the EBay user boards about people buying an item then suddenly getting unsolicited emails from the seller.

That said, I've bought stuff where the seller includes a card or note or something with their own website on it, and usually offer a discount if you order directly from them instead of going through eBay. They have an opt in list on their website.

You'd have to get them to opt in. How you go about doing that is the real question. You would probably have to ship the materials with the product.
