Creating your own IP rant

Fellow warriors,

I don't know about you but I'm getting fed up with those "how to game facebook" "how to cloack" etc threads.

For me people playing those tricks (borderline black hat) are not in it for the long term.

My take is that it's better to build your own IP (intellectual property)
make it grow rather than play silly games.

Sure, you can make a few $$$ short term, but it's like building a house on sand, you're not building foundations for a proper business.

I don't understand the appeal of cpa offers for some verticals why promote somebody else IP when you can build your own?

End of rant

Look forward to your comments

I agree - You'll only win (in the long term anyway) if you're on the same page as Google - which is focusing on content and the visitor.

Anyone with decent content (articles/products etc) will be able to take advantage of them well into the future.

Having said that though - there are always ways to 'game' the system, but you're always looking behind your shoulder and one update from Facebook/Google/{insert_name_here) and your work is worthless.

In the long term, it's like Gary Vaynerchuk says - everyone is a media company.
