Flippa Website Traffic

Hi, i need some advice from WF members. I bought a website on Flippa 8 days ago and the traffic is somewhere 18K to 20K per day but all of a sudden, the traffic dropped to 1K (yesterday) to few hundreds today. I contacted the seller and he said that i put a lot of ads on that site and Google hates it then that caused the traffic to decreased. I think there's a lot of site with a lot of ads is getting good traffic. So, how do i detect if that traffic is not a paid traffic/bots traffic? The seller might just use that as an excuse or maybe that's right. I need your opinion to determine it. Thanks.

Got a link to the original listing?

It is most likely to be paid traffic disguised as organic which they stop paying for a week after sale (assuming you have left feedback) and then blame a 3rd party to avoid getting banned...

Looked into it and replied. I won't post what I discovered here, but it is quite a common scam on Flippa, unfortunately.

You can buy site on Flippa but it can be very dangerous.

I recommend to team up with somebody that knows what they are doing.

If you buy the wrong site you lose 100% of your money. So it is wiser to
invest some money in guidance or coaching and have more certainty that the transaction is successful.

      Hi Maz-

If you are interested in what happened to your site - PM me.

I wrote a fairly detailed reply in a thread a while back about a very common Flippa scam, and how it works.

The thread was deleted so I can't put a link here, but I can send you the post I wrote if you are interested in what happened - just so that it doesn't occur again.

      Best,
      Alex
