Small Site Good Earner > Authority Site

I have a small very thin single product review site that was earning me about 100-200$ per week from simply one review. For every 10 visitors to my site I was averaging one sale.

Unfortunately the product isnt that popular so I was only getting 150 vistors per month.

Well last week it bounced off google and through some off page seo I bounced it back 2 places higher than before.

I decided I would add more articles to make it less likely to bounce around.

I was going to just outsource relevant stuff, but then I figured I might as well add my own personal stuff. Since I am somewhat of an expert of experience in this niche.

I wrote an extremely good and real article, and after doing so feel as if I kept this up I might be straying into turning this site into a more authorative type site.

The problem is that the site is an EMD and is solely revolving around selling this one product.

Now normally I wouldnt add valuable content like this to a review site because I want to "save" it for if I ever made an authority site on the matter.

Unfortunately this niche is in the health and fitness market, which is extremely competetive, so I have never tried.

I know I could have the best content in the world but if no one ever sees it, then it wont matter.

Also because this site is already earning me cash, its already "here" and "successful".

So basically my concern is, if I continue to add great content and my "secrets". And this becomes an authority type site.

Can I simply buy a new domain, 301 redirect it, change the homepage to another page. And essentially have a new site going?

Like I said even though I have so much valuable intel on this topic, I wouldnt probably ever create an authority site from scratch because fitness is far to competetive. I dont want to write good shit and have it fail because of the SERP king doesnt wanna rank it.

If the site every became really big I'd probably scrap the review anyway and sell my own product.

Does anyone have experience with this type of issue?

    Where are the other 9 visitors go to? Any Chance to capture their emails for follow up?

    Why not compete with yourself?
    When your original site only converts 1 out of 10, the other 9 go somewhere else.
    Create a second site with your good Content you Held back sofar and get hold of one or more of the 9 others.
    Maybe you even get 2 front page listings in the serps.

    Was it easy to rank your site? If it was, then maybe it will be easy to also rank a newer site that you plan to turn into an authority site.

    You can buy services on WF where they'll create authority sites for you and some may even guarantee you'll get a good ranking. You can track which one is better, making your own website or getting someone to get it done for you. 100-200$ per week is good enough but there's a chance you'll earn more if you add more contents or make more website.
