Darksiders3.com

As some of you may, or may not be familiar with, Darksiders was a game franchise published by THQ that had great success. After DS2, the franchise was sold to Nordic games which has plans to make the sequel, Darksiders 3.

The first game sold over 1 million units, while the second sold over 1.5 million units.

According to several domain appraisals, that domain is worth $0. It would be best to make a site and try to sell it in an auction.

Investing in domains is an absolute waste of time. Domains are worth absolutely 0$. Without it being developed and proof that it is actually worth something, its a waste of time. You have to give it a website and traffic in order for the value to go up. Its like a stock, the more people flock to it, the more value it has.

Please i encourage to never buy a domain thinking its worth something. You are just throwing away money.

My investment was very low, so not making too much of this isn't all that big of a deal for me.

Okay good - but for your safety please just don't invest in domain names. It's funny because the dot com boom was seriously nothing profitable. Other than the people who actually had the money to develop website for those domains.

I wouldn't touch a trademark domain, so it wouldn't be worth anything to me and those who care about getting into trademark disputes.

You don't know how wrong you are. High priced domains with no traffic or website are sold ALL THE TIME.

I can accept your opinion as your right but my experience has been different. I've been offered a lot of money for CDBN.com and the last time I used it for ecommerce other than listing my domains was back in 1999 When I owned the Cherokee Discount Buyers Club.

Look on Linkedin and you'll find thousands of Domain name investors,

A name is really worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

I've sold SportLimo.com, ActEnergy.com and ShakeFit.com for over 10K each and the owners used them for a year and forgot to renew them and now they are listed by domain brokers again. You will never know what your name is worth. The only decision you need to make is whether or not you are willing to spend $10 next year when it is time to renew.

        Three buyers.
        Three $10,000 sales.
        Three dropped a year later.

That is highly unusual, so I had to do some quick digging on Archive.org and your story doesn't jive with the evidence.

You did sell SportLimo.com in 2006, but the buyer actually forwarded the domain to their main site at limousine.nl until 2013 and then let it expire. ShakeFit.com shows only parking pages after you last developed it. ActEnergy.com doesn't have anything archived, so can't say much about that one.

But feel free to keep telling your little story. It has a nice wow factor.

I've been on this forum for over 16 years, I have no reason to BS here.

"It's better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

The fact there is no information on ActEnergy on archive.org shows their unreliability

All three domains are listed as for sale as I clearly stated.

It sounds like you've spent too much time trying to sell to other domainers. You won't get squat from a lot of them unless you do what you have mentioned, but to end users it is a totally different ballgame.

Just as an aside...I sold a domain a couple of years ago on Flippa to a guy for $200 and he paid me immediately after the auction...then he - well - he disappeared. lol. I never heard from him again, even after contacting him a dozen times. He never asked for the domain or his money back. He just vanished.
I held onto the domain for over a year and finally sold it to someone else. Maybe the guy died suddenly.

I bought and sold a domain for $500 without even doing anything to it. People do the same everyday. They are not a waste of time, you just need to know what your doing.

I sold a domain for $4,000 USD to a pharmaceutical company without developing the site. It's rare but it happens.

    LegendToBe,

If the name is a registered trademark, the value is zero.
Unless, you want to take the chance of being sued.

The simplest solution would be to contact the company and tell them you bought it without much forethought and would like to transfer it to them. Ask if they would be willing to pay $100 for your time to get the process done and to recoup your cost for the domain. If you keep the price low, they will probably be interested. If you try to get a big payout, expect a letter from their attorney.

How many people are searching for the keyword of existing versions of the game (1,2)? Then you can see what kind of traffic to expect. Unfortunately without having a great deal of text on the site talking about the game and gaming exact match won't help as much as it used to. You can of course try to sell it to the developers, but for trademarked keywords it's tricky. Sell them on the time savings and hassle savings of buying it compared to the ican process.

It's not only worth nothing it could actually cost you a significant
amount of money when the trademark holder discovers you using
    it without their permission.

Scooping up domain names is not a waste of time. I know of certain names that have sold for 100's of thousands' of dollars...

It depends how much that domain name would be worth to the company, they could always use another domain name. It's like finding a needle in a haystack, rare... but it does happen

Even if you guys think domains are worth 0$.... Face reality.... Domains are going to be sold every once in a while. It's up to YOU to decide whether or not investing in domains is a good way to make money.

Best way to determine how much a domain's worth is to auction it.

I'm sorry, but this domain is worth less than zero if "Darksiders" is a trademark ...
Why? You may soon get an email from a lawyer, who will 1) either ask you to delete or forward the domain immediately (best case scenario), or 2) claim damages.
So do yourself a favor, and delete this domain at this very moment.
