These are my very own images. Pictures I took with my own camera.

Just make sure you visit the source of the image before using it to make sure it really is free, don't rely on Google alone. Better safe than sorry.

And if it is free, it's a good idea to give credit to the photographer/copyright holder.

Yes the results are poor using that search. Most of the photos look like they were taken using a home camera and aren't the professional look you get on those stock photo sites which charge a fee per image.

I think it's worth it to pay a few bucks for a high quality stock photo that you know you're getting the license to use. The quality of the free images is usually lacking (there's probably a reason they're free).

I have created a list of about 75 free images sites, including Wikipediaublic domain image resources - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

However, you know what I do in real life? I budget $500 every year at 123RF.com and Dreamstime.com ($250 each). Based on my usages, I pay $1.00-$1.50 each for the photos I need, and I don't have to waste time looking for freebies.

My time is more important and valuable to me, so it's great to pay a buck or so for a photo. The selection is always excellent at these two sites.

Sorry to seem unkind, but this is probably the worst advice I have ever seen here. It is dishonest to steal. Licensing products is not "technical stuff" --it is how business is conducted legally and the right way of going about it.

The idea that stealing is okay because you may be able to get away with it is exactly what every crook thinks. Also, giving credit to something you have stolen is meaningless. There are plenty of public domain and legally available images under a Creative Commons License on the Internet. Care enough about your business to be an honest person, even in the so-called small things.

Theres also picsdesktop.com that allows you to download free to use images in different format sizes right to your pc. This is also a good source for site background images like in those guru style squeeze pages

Why take the risk? Far better to go to somewhere like BigStock and purchase the image legally. Then you have proof that you can legally use it. I have used many BigStock images, they are usually very good quality and are offered in a range of sizes although I don't think I have ever used more than the smallest size offered.

I am watching a video course and the guy says if you are amazon associate and have any links that go back to amazon on your site(doesn't have to be on the image)then you can use any image at all on amazons website. He says its in the terms and conditions. Video was last year, can anyone confirm this?

Of course, I also use the Google to find my required Image, in the google Image section. Every time I got what I was searching.

Apparently this is wrong. I did this and noticed that a lot of those pics under the reuse section are flicker and all flicker photos have their own rules.

Briefly...

Attribution means:
You let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your copyrighted work - and derivative works based upon it - but only if they give you credit.
Noncommercial means:
You let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your work - and derivative works based upon it - but for noncommercial purposes only.
No Derivative Works means:
You let others copy, distribute, display, and perform only verbatim copies of your work, not derivative works based upon it.
Share Alike means:
You allow others to distribute derivative works only under a license identical to the license that governs your work.

Which is kind of confusing anyway, which of those can you use unmodified pics and put them on your website that is commercial(affiliate marketing?) and not have to give credit?

Thanks MSB, it says compatable ip to 2.9.2 and it hasn't been tested on the latest version.
I just screwed up my site a couple days ago and don't want to take any chances again. I will wait for update. lol
