Any Wordpress plugins for importing sql databases?

Hello all,

Recently I had the displeasure of having somebody hack my wordpress install, and change the passwords on me. I also had to delete my sql database in this whole process (i backed it first of course).

I'm having troubles importing my sql database now, I was wondering if there were any wordpress plugins to help achieve this. Or if anybody here specializes in this sort of thing, I'd be willing to purchase a very, very big beer.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Steve,

You can import a backed up file in your admin:

Manage -> Import -> WordPress ( at the bottom of the big list of options ).

Was the backup made using Wordpress or phpmyadmin?

it was using phpmyadmin

i've been trying to import it using phpmyadmin, but i'm getting all sorts of errors. I'm thinking I might need somebody to look at it.

also, i looked at the import feature in the Wordpress admin, and it seem it has to be a certain file, non-sql.

It's my experience that you first have to delete all of the existing database tables in phpmyadmin first, then import. That's why you're getting the errors.
