I see that Ezinearticles are now offering a premium membership but at $97 a month is it worth it to get this?

Well, ever since I became a platinum author way back then, I have always had my articles published within a couple days, and the one time I had a customer service issue, my trouble ticket was answered and resolved withing 24 hours. So, I'm not sure why I'd need to pay extra (unless their freebie service is going to go downhill now, heh).

That said, I'm not sure what it's like for folks who submit tons of articles a week.

Perhaps things slow down a bit for them and they would benefit from the paid service?

I don't really see the point.

My articles get approved in about 2 days. Even if it changed to 2 weeks it wouldn't be all that bad. Reason being that if you're submitting regular articles then you'll be seeing newly approved articles every day, the lag time just isn't that important.

Now if they promised better exposure or higher rankings or something, then I'd be interested. A bit like USFreeads premium service.

theres no real reason to pay for this service. if you are continually submitting articles then they are continually getting approved theres no point. i would pay 97$ for better rankings and exposure. but 97$ for something that happens continually for free why bother.

I'm surprised it's as much as $97 - I don't think many people would be willing to pay that much for what has always been a free service. I might have been interested if it was less than $50.

I think $97 a month is far too rich for my palate and no I will not be paying it at least for the moment.

To make that cost effective for me I would need to be submitting 100 times the number of articles I do currently.

I expect this means that the level of service currently enjoyed by Platinum level authors will slide a little but I can cope with that as long as I need to.

What interests me is that Allen Graves currently has a WSO for an article site which requires paid membership and ezine articles has now started to move towards this model also. Is this the way article sites are heading? In the past these sites have been monetized by advertising, Allen says no adverts on his site which I see as a benefit, but are they seeing revenue dropping so are looking at alternatives or is it just the current membership site craze?

  Wow! I've always said I would join up for faster/better service if Ezine ever started charging...but $100 is way too much for what is essentially a faster review time. Maybe there is something I am missing, but "no thanks!"

My Adsense revenue was actually growing when I decided to make this change. The main reason I decided to drop the ads and charge for a membership was because of the colossal amounts of spam that I and my editors were trudging through each day. I tried everything I could...and I tried for months...but the spam kept coming in at staggering rates.

Just a small charge per month completely got rid of the spammers 100%!!!!!

You're not the only one to think that it was about the "membership craze" or poor Adsense revenue. Most people forget to look at it from "the other side."

Now you all know the real reason...at least in my particular case.

My response: YES, definitely.

Here's why - I know myself. I'm really, really into instant gratification, so when I was on a beta for the Premium service a few weeks ago, I made an effort to write more articles and saw the results for myself.

So to me, it's worth $97 a month or whatever just to give myself a kick in the rear.

It's like a gym membership: once you've paid, you use it.

But everyone's different.

It depends on how article marketing fits into your business plan.

I don't see the point. If you're writing and submitting articles every day, then other than the first time, you should have approvals happening most days anyway.

  By the way, I guarantee 24 or less turn around as well, but for $97 a month, you'd pretty much have to guarantee traffic to get enough subscribers to make it worthwhile...at least on a basic, one-tier level.
  
  The price will turn away a LOT of people, but I believe Chris is targeting the people that consider $97 to be a drop in the bucket anyway.

  I agree, the price seems a bit high, whilst the benefit (as it currently appears) isn't that much better than the standard non-paid membership. Perhaps, in time, there'll be other perks to the $97/month.

  ninety seven dollars? no thanks. i have been submitting articles to them and they are actually being posted after one to three days. I am enjoying almost the same benefits without paying anything. if they can assure me that they will add more valuable advantage, i might think of it. but as of now, the free one is good for me.

Actually, just because you're paying for it doesn't mean you'll use it. Plenty of people buy 1-year or longer gym memberships, then stop going after a few weeks.

I don't see the value for $97/month. If you are submitting articles every day or week they are going to get approved eventually, so I don't see what you are gaining by them appearing a day or 2 sooner.

How much are you guys making from an article in 1 or 2 days? Is it enough to cover the $97?
