SitePal lets you easily create and add an animated speaking character to your web site, Flash application, email, blog, PowerPoint, or eBay auction, making it more personal and persuasive. SitePal is fully compatible with all hosting providers & web server technologies and languages.
Now is there anyone here on the forum who has tried this software?
If so I would be intrigued with how you got on with it.
I initially thought it may be a good tool to use for my membership site.
However, the avatars are a bit scary!

Perry Belcher swears by it on his get money from google course.... but I don't know to be honest...

I use it and it's pretty cool. You can do a lot of tweaking to get the avatars to look a little more normal. I think they have a 15 day free trial. Recording the voice is really easy. I found it through Perry Belcher as well. I'd say I got about a 5-7% increase in opt-ins after I put it up on my squeeze page.

It also depends on your niche. I had it myself but being in the dating niche people did not want their coworkers to hear the message that they were trying to learn how to meet women. I really liked it though. And as mentioned above you have a 15 day trial to test it out.

I tried it but it has too many limitations for what I wanted
to do. The characters mouths look too weird too. I found
another talking avatar solution I use here and there. It
required a lot of tweaking to get it right, however - so
if you want a simple solution test SitePal and see if it does
      what you need.

There is a free version targeted at children. I forget what
it is called. It has fewer characters and the site runs slowly,
probably because of all the kids playing with it, but I think
the technology running the avatars is the same.

I'm using it right now on a landing page split test and it is the winner at the moment with a new optin rate of 53.5% when used over a traditional video message.

Don't ask me why it works...it just does at the moment.

        Always test though!

        Cheers,

I really think it is a cute piece of software, but undecided if it really converts traffic...but as i want to improve the look of my site and add more content with pages, lolike a FAQ page, I then thought i could have a question and answer for the visitors.
as well as prices, bonuses, etc.?
I am glad to see some warriors are using this, as it gives me extra faith to try it.

            Let me clarify something....

I am ONLY using it for an intro video on a Landing Page...and it is boosting conversions quite well...

However, I have not used it for any other purpose...so I cannot speak for a Q&A usage.

So far, it has boosted opt-in rate by about 15%...

            Cheers,

              Jack,
that`s interesting, what landing page is it for?
I have viewed your videos relating to the keyword searches etc Google.
I have been absorbing information about SEO, ppc for my 4 month old site now and wondered if your videos could help?
I came accross www,website.grader.com the other day and tested my website to see how good /bad it was.
It also showed me the keywords on my site, etc.
So i put all my competitors sites there, and discovered some interesting keywords for my highest keyword search????
It seems your software does this and more...but is it on the same theme?

Me too. I'm only using it as an intro video on a squeeze page. Pretty much just reading the page and hitting the major points. I think it works in that situation because some people will hit the page and be a little bit intrigued by the cartoon guy and hang just long enough for the audio to start and then they hear what you have to say where they probably wouldn't have bothered with reading the copy. Same concept as an audio file that starts playing when you land on a page, just a little more friendly and interesting. I assume straight audio converts better than just text as well.

The talking-head also indicates there is audio playing... because
some browsers have audio turned-off some of the time it
helps to be able to pique interest so they'll turn their speakers on.

I have used it . It just doesn't fit into the time frame I want my splash page to occupy .

There is a lot ( and I mean a lot ) Of people on dial up still. When I got down and dirty with the testing I was seeing that while my conversions went up a little over 11%, around 40% were opting in before the animation loaded .

With the cost involved to get the number of plays I would need a month it wasn't viable for me .

Really interesting sites ther all of you....That`s why I am giving my site a real makeover to at least reach your standards.
      Question to all;
Does your sitepal, youtube or other video presentation I noticed give you significant increase in traffic?

      Tinstar;
I like your sitepal man! Is Introduction of the site the best way to use it?

      Loren:
Although you have tried sitepal. what is the other avatar software you think is better?

      Magic:
I wish i had 10% of your pulling power lol,
Is the youtube alternative hard to set-up? Can you get actors to video your message?

I have used it, but then switched to

    livefaceonweb. com

Take a tour and see why.

If you go that route, do dialogue testing with sitepal to get it perfect
then show the lfow people what you want. - once you are sure you
    won't change it.

Years ago I used to use and promote it as an affiliate.

I have done split tests where I have used site pal vs the same message in an audio button vs the same message in a talking head video...

The plain audio version won. The video version and site pal versions were close.

If you can do talking head videos site pal will not offer you any advantage over real video... unless maybe you have a great voice but a face for radio ;-)

I also found that if you use site pal... an effective way to boost response on an actual site pal message is to customize your character to look like you... or maybe a stock photo of a person who you want to represent the voice.

Combining real with virtual grabs attention better than virtual on its own.

Sesame street is a great example of this... real people interacting with the puppets engages the viewer more.
