Contacting Clickbank vendor

Hey folks.

Found a product on CB that i really like, and want to promote this thing asap.
However, i had some questions for the vendor/owner of the site.

So i go to the site, and find the affiliate page and, theres a contact form.
What happens is, i cant send the message. i need to be logged in.
He is forcing me to buy his product in order to contact him...seems kinda lame to me..i know many will think "you should allways buy the product first ..bla bla" i dont need to. i allready know this product. My gripe is just that ...how in the hell do i get in contact with this guy?
And from the click bank affiliate advice page, theres some "do´s and don´ts" where they state, you are never required to buy a product in order to promote it.

I´m a little confused about how i proceed from here.
Hope you guys can help

Is the form an optin form. If it is, it is perfectly normal for vendors to want affiliates to join their list before they give you access to affiliate resources etc. You could also try contacting Clickbank to get them to help you with your problem. I hope that helped.

    Cheers!

yeah its a basic optin form, where you write name , email topic and message..then when you click send "oh sorry..wrong user/password" - his affiliate page is open to anyone...anyone can go click the affiliate link bottom of the page, and he has some info on how much you can make, and a tonne of banners you can promote. wich is all fine and dandy..but i try to treat this as a business. dont want to do business with a man i can´t talk to. - I sent a ticket to Clickbanks staff. Been 48 hours soon, havent heard back.

I think you've probably answered your own question.

If you can't contact the vendor, your customers will experience the same thing and will likely ask for a refund if they hit a problem.

They're unlikely to be the only vendor in existence for whatever product line you want to promote so move along until you find one who wants affiliates!

That's probably not an accurate statement. Clickbank requires customer service contact info to be listed in the product setup before a vendor is approved.

That's fairly recent and in my experience they haven't got round to enforcing it for all vendors.

Also there's a difference between having the link and the vendor replying to messages sent via the link.

This is true. However, that's the beauty of Clickbank as it also handles many customer service related issues without the vendor input. When there appear to be significant issues with the product or the vendor, Clickbank will honor their 60 day money back guarantee and refund the customer in most cases when requested.

The OP was talking about contacting the vendor with a view to promoting their products.

I agree that the 60 day money back guarantee protects the purchaser but it still doesn't mean the vendor answers questions from would-be affiliates.

My personal view on that is to move on and promote someone who's interested in making extra sales, always providing they've got a good quality product in the first place.

              Ben,

As a matter of policy resulting from a series of personal bad experiences and similar horror stories from other affiliates, I would never promote a Clickbank sales page that contains a vendor's optin form. But when there is an otherwise good product with such an optin form (or piss-poor sales copy) I always just make my own sales page with a direct link to the Clickbank payment page.

Although Clickbank's current TOS requires express permission from the vendor to bypass the vendor sales page, it has never been an issue for me with over 300 Clickbank products promoted through my own sales copy. Generally I don't recommend this method without first establishing contact with the vendor, but it may be a solution for your specific situation.

I guess without knowing which particular vendor / product the OP is dealing with, and without seeing the sales page etc, its hard to be of any help or give suggestions. Some vendors hide, whereas others can be easily found with a little research, and others make themselves very accessible. I respect your view about moving on from promoting a product if you can't reach the vendor.

Every Clickbank vendor should have his or hers contact info on the sales page.

Sometimes, the product owner may get a lot of spam by leaving their contact info on the sales page and maybe there is a reason why they took it off.

Do a whois search on the site domain. You might find his contact info there.

It may be a good thing and save you from promoting a product with shabby support, but on the other hand I think it should be mandatory to either buy a product or receive a review copy in order to be an affiliate.

I would not want every tom dick and hairy promoting a product of mine without even knowing squat about what they're promoting.

The OP did state that he already knows about the product, so buying it should not be necessary. In addition, "shabby" support from a vendor is seldom even a problem at all, with Clickbank's 60-day money back guarantee. And in my years of soured experiences, absent vendors are irrelevant for any Clickbank affiliate transactions.

Ben that is not a big problem as the solution is visible. I am a newbie and has a problem with the hoplink that is so needed to do promotion. I do not know if you have reached that far, if not you may be having that problem waiting for you up the road.

Your could be going ahead and purchase then reclaim it. Click bank will definitely help you more at this time because they prefer when vender and customer work out their problem without their intervention. Hence, they will provide you with contact details for the vendor. Also, it is good to purchase it as you would now be able to do a better product review as well as getting a commission off it. You do not need to buy it though. If that is the problem that is bugging you down do not allow it to hold you back. Go ahead and do your thing. At least you know about a solution. I do not know my own solution.

I am having my hoplinks not working on my word press blog site and I do not know what to do. It does not condense to 'click here' neither does it redirects to the sales page of the product. Hence I am stuck here for a long time and do not know what to do. Can someone help me please. Thank you.
