need cheap and pro autoresponder

Hi,

can someone please recommend a cheap and professional autoresponder?

I''ve used TrafficWave for 4-5 years and they were the best in terms of price and quality. I would get unlimited subscribers, campaigns, and messages for $18 a month. But poor customer support made me quit TW.

AIOP's autoresponder is just not as professional yet (although they're improving it, but too slowly...)

And Aweber, getresponse, mailchimp and the alikes.... I don't wanna even hear about them. I get only 500 subscribers (or 1000 in some cases) for $20 a month. That's absurd. You can't even compare aweber to TrafficWave in that regard.

So anyway... do you guys know of any professional AR that is less than $20 a month but which offers unlimited of everything? I am having a hard time finding one. Or at least one that comes very close to this. I would take a look at it. Feel free to send your referral links if you have them and if it doesn't break WF's TOS.

TIA

You should stick with Traffic Wave...

Otherwise you will need to prepare to pay much more as your list grows.

Have you considered self-hosting your list?

    Cheers,

I haven't considered because I didn't know it was possible. Shame on me I know

But, I doubt that self-hosting AR come with so many goodies like standalone AR services (templates, deliverability, etc)

As for TW, nah! I got sick of them after a month of asking the same simple question (but in multiple ways) and all they did was telling me to read their TOS, when the question was technical in nature and could only be fixed from their end.

WordPress has an plug in or theme with the function of building a self hosted list. Look into that I used it before but I forgot the process. Will let you know once I find it again.

Hi and thanks for the tip

Unfortunately I am not interested in using Wordpress. I mean, I use WP a lot but that's not what I'm looking for. I want a full AR service.

So don't bother looking into it

You could try Rocket Responder. $20 per 10 000 subscribers. Relatively new but the creators have been in the game for quite some time and the service is getting great reviews.
Note - I'm not using them, just heard about them when I was researching. You said you didn't want to hear about GetResponse, but they did have a sale on last Friday for Valentine's through the weekend - I locked in the 2500 subscriber plan for 20.50 per month for as long as I want. You could approach them and see if they'll honour that sale price.
Anyway, link to Rocket Responder is:

I guess I could go with 10,000 subscribers (with rocket responder that is) but still, I am not sure how many messages I can send and how many email lists I can have for this price. I can't see anything about this aspect on their site at a first glance. But thanks for the link. Will take a closer look at it.

      Cheers!

As far as ARs are concerned, I'm not sure I'd ever be able to put Cheap and Pro in the same sentence. You tend to get what you pay for and have found with the cheaper alternatives that the deliverability drops as does the support on offer.

I know it's not cheap but Aweber has to be the one and only choice for myself. I know you said you don't want to hear of Aweber but you also complained about support which sounds like high on your list of priorities if it's the reason you left Traffic Wave?

If you asked me what the best thing about Aweber what I'd say the support, without question it's incredible.

Obviously you've not said what the 500 list is for, but I can only assume that are some point that list of 500 is making money, has made you money or will make you money and at some point, if that's the case, I'd expect it to make you more than $20 a month?

Surely that will warrant spending the $20 a month on Aweber?

      Hi,

I am not sure yet which niche the 500 subscribers would be in, but I don't like being limited/put under pressure. Especially after I enjoyed unlimited of everything for $18 a month for 5 years while using TW. You can clearly see what a big turndown Aweber's offer is, regardless of how good their support is.

But anyway, I was hoping to find a service similar to TW (not necessarily identical) but with a little more caring customer support. That's all. I am not a support freak to get angry and all when they don't answer my tickets in the next minute, but I want at least to read my ticket and respond to it accordingly, not with the imbecile phrase "read our TOS", like a broken machine. And doing this for a whole month too. Yeah I am a bit pissed, I know. But... never mind.....

Still hoping to find a decent alternative to TW if you guys have one

To the extent that you get what you pay for, I'd say most of the major email marketing providers are quite generous.

Size isn't everything, remember. Even if it was, a huge list with a scrappy provider isn't worth much with deliverability rates so paltry that even clipped carrier pigeons seem a promising alternative. You might not know it from their websites, but some of the cheaper offerings are so bad in this department it is borderline criminal.

You can call me cynical, but it's a good bet that if there is a service out there that offers all you want at the right price, the few who vouch for it, however well intentioned, probably aren't of a sufficiently perceptive disposition to recognise themselves as victims of a false economy.

Add to this the stark reality that if you are near your subscriber limit and still umming and ahhing about the cost outlay, you have a serious business problem urgently in need of addressing. In such a case, if you're even marginally profitable, penny-pinching could make a bad situation even worse once reduced deliverability is factored in.
