I have been approached by few people/agencies for marketing my online service. All of them say same thing and promise same things. Can anyone guide me on how to measure a success from an internet marketing service?
  • How would I know that I am not getting fooled by them?
  • How should I rate each of them?
  • Can you suggest few measurable parameters?
  • How do I measure their service benefits?
Please post your suggestions, tips and hints on this.

You should first request a game plan that includes what all their agency includes (email marketing, content marketing, SEO, etc.)

Also, one of the key things to look at - and this will depend on the size of the company - is whether you will have a dedicated account manager who will provide ongoing analytics and reports. If they're willing to give you a monthly report of your web traffic, and provide you with new marketing opportunities, that certainly shows something.

So to sum it up: Look at all of their services and then verify that they are willing to provide consistent, ongoing support.

        Hope that helps.

Here's what matters: The increase in sales is less than the increase in costs.

They must be able to track, down to the penny, how much you are spending vs. how much their service is bringing in.

If they can't do those 2 things, they are worthless.

I would first see if other customers have used them in the past. See if there are reviews.

The best way to know yourself if they have good services is what Alex said. You need to test each company that you will be using and see the return on your investment.

Test any company that you want to use in the future.

The only way to know what you have to do is by studying internet marketing. If you are ignorant you won't be able to evaluate any service and you might waste your money without having any positive result.

Before spending money you have to know what you are doing and have a serious marketing plan. If you are not able to understand how to create a practical marketing plan, don't do anything. Learn what is necessary before acting.
