    What sort of offer were you making to get these email addresses? If your ad was about finding a plumbing job then that may be harder to monetize...if you were advertising about making money online then one option is to go the typical affiliate route and promote Clickbank products for affiliate commissions.

    It's hard to say without knowing more. The best option is to build a product or service to cater to your list!

    Were you posting an ad for a real job? Did the people responding know they were being put on an email list by opting in?

    If the answer is no to both those questions, then you're a spammer. Also, it's HIGHLY unethical to take advantage of people looking for legitimate jobs by doing this.

    What do you plan on emailing them?

    Seriously, delete the list and find a legit way to get email leads.

    Build up a relationship with your list and market related products to them ever now and then. 5k leads is amazing.. You collected all that from craigslist alone!

    These people are looking for jobs to get hired on not to buy your product or buy/sell your product. They'll only get ticked off. Wrong market.

    Temp agencies aren't supposed on CL either.

    I thought about Craigslist also but I wouldn't post in the jobs section - rather the classifieds where things are sold.

    They only charge if it is a major city, but I am like the rest of the warrior's here, the most upsetting thing is to think you are applying for a job and it's a biz op. Do you not know that people who look for jobs are already frustrated and then have to turn around and deal with this foolishness. Bad warrior, that's not how we suppose to roll.

      Where I am in Chicago it's like $75 to post a job ad. Not cheap.

    Aside from preying on those looking for honest work, he's also violating Craigslist TOS too:

    "USE. You agree not to use or provide software (except for general purpose web browsers and email clients, or software expressly licensed by us) or services that interact or interoperate with CL, e.g. for downloading, uploading, posting, flagging, emailing, search, or mobile use. Robots, spiders, scripts, scrapers, crawlers, etc. are prohibited, as are misleading, unsolicited, unlawful, and/or spam postings/email. You agree not to collect users' personal and/or contact information ("PI")."

    Seriously, this is what gives IMers a bad name and that's why it gets under my skin so much.

      Make money from legitimate way.
