Revenue from article writing.

I'm being lazy asking this question.

Can someone please explain the basic process of earning money from writing articles for the many article submission web sites.

I've done plenty of ppc and product affiliate selling in the past but never article writing.

Thanks.

Using article submission websites was great a few years ago, when article marketing was at it's peak, you could submit a decent review article to ezine and rank on the first page for some medium comp keywords. So as you've probably worked out, you could submit 10 articles in a day easily and with some low quality links easily rank on the first page.

Google updates killed article marketing in this way

So essentially article writing is no longer revenue generating?

Quite the contrary. Writing has always been and always will be the sine quo non for driving revenue. With condolences to word slingers riding the short crest of the SEO mania, the demand for quality writing has never subsided.

Your search for writing assignments should be focused on marketers who understand the real value and power of words - and who will pay accordingly.

If you've had success with ppc and product affiliate selling, consider building a portfolio of your writing ability and marketing to other affiliates.

A directory I use quite often for finding publications is Writers' Market, although the pay is insignificant compared to revenue generated from the articles themselves.

Article writing is definitely revenue generating. You can generate revenue by selling your articles as a content writer.

    The basic process is this:

    1. Find an affiliate program
    2. write an article
    3. submit article to article directories
    4. hope that the article gets some traffic and hope that the affiliate program converts and hope that you make enough to get over the payment threshold and get paid.

As you can see there are a bunch of "hopes" in that concept.

In general this "business model" used to work as articles submitted to article directories got so much traffic that it outwayed all the "hopes".

There are ways to still make this work but you are better off if you simply write articles for content mills (like iwriter for example) and get paid a fixed amount per article written.

You can even take your earnings up to new levels by getting paid $0.50 to $2 per word. That is not with iwriter. More writing for larger blogs and magazines.

And you can get paid $100 up to $200 per blog post with another company but you need your own blog for that.
