Can linking products in forums be profitable?

I was thinking about joining a health forum and having a link to a product in my signature and becoming active, can this be profitable? or a waste of time.

It works, but it's not a quick thing.
A lot of forums require you to be a member for a certain amount of time, or a certain amount of posts, or a combination of both, before you can add a link in your signature.
You also have to make sure that you're adding value with your posts, or you may just get banned for spamming.
Good luck if you're gonna try it.
Why not report back on your endeavours, or if you're successful, make a WSO about it?

Yes it can work, however always, always read the rules prior to posting.

If you are just adding a link in a your signature you might be breaking the rules and can get you banned.

If the forum allows it , another thing you must factor in is not to spam as that can get you in trouble too.

Always remember to lead with value no matter what , nobody likes a spammer.

Also, some forums forbid affiliate links in a signature line, requiring that you can only link to sites you own. This could limit your marketing potential if you are looking for a nearly hands free way to promote products without having to put up affiliate review sites.

Yes it's okay if it's accepted by the forum owners.
You should read the rules of the forum before posting
any links and also if the forum accept links you should
first give value by posting and sharing useful comments
to build your post counts and to be seen as a contributor
    and not a sales person.

    NGB,

This strategy can work tremendously well if you contribute helpful content to the forum on a daily basis.

Your link becomes clickable if you share information to make your link clickable.

Be memorable. If most people are leaving 2 or 3 sentence answers, write 3 or 4 insightful, thoughtful, helpful paragraphs.

Stand out from the crowd. Make an impression. Learn your niche inside out. Share this knowledge with forum members. Respond, chat, engage, and most of all, be nice, because being nice AND helpful will make you respected, and respected people profit quite quickly in their niche.

    Hope this helps!

And, it will take awhile to build credibility on the forum. These things don't happen overnight, even with really good posts as most people are cynical online and tend to suspect the worst of a person first. But, if you stick around and actually take time to become part of the community and not just someone interested in signature line options, then members will get to know who you are and are likely to feel more comfortable about what you have to say. But, don't expect it right away, that doesn't happen for anyone.

I'd build up a reputation on the forum first by adding to the discussion. Get maybe a hundred or so comments under your belt before adding an affiliate link in your sig line.

But check to see what the forum rules are first. Otherwise you risk getting banned.

It is probably against the tos to link to the affiliate link in the forums you want.
Signatures can be valuable. I have been approached by two people to sell my signature here but I don't.

Sigs are like gold to me, Sometimes I build my list, sometimes I advertise new sites and yet sometimes I just post my views.

It is a privilege to have a sig and does help the forum out also cause it gets them more members but read the rules I bet affiliate links are not allowed and if they are then everyone is competing with you so it would probably be a waste of time.

It can be very profitable but you have to make sure that you follow the forum's rules.

Some forums online don't allow their members to post affiliate links and only to your own website.

Before you start doing this, read the forum rules FIRST.

The only way this idea would work is to post on forums related to your product. Establish yourself as a credible person in your niche, such as someone who knows what they are talking about.

Take time to care about the people in the forum where you are posting, rather than simply trying to bring attention to your signature line. Offer helpful solutions to the members who are asking questions; post relevant and thought provoking discussions that enrich the community and build it up.
