Email question- please help

Hello everyone,

I use mandrill as my SMTP server for sending emails via my website. The script has a built in phpmailer.

I want to user SMTP again for a new project but i dont have a phpmailer. Do i have to download and software to link to my SMTP server to send a newsletter?

I dont want to use mailchimp or anything like that as i have over 5k emails and they charge a subscription

    No Mandrill is just a smtp server. Just use a wordpress site and install a self hosted autoresponder that will work with it. You can mail through your hosting account but I would not go php. Just a wordpress plugin.

    Mail poet is a good one and free for up to 2000 subscribers.
