What do you consider the most popular niche or most profitable right now?

I was just curious on what people thought was the most popular and most profitable niche right now. There has to be one that everyone who is into niche marketing all do. So what is it???

Yes but I bet that most who actually make money online here does it without the make money online niche.

                Tim,

I do see that poker niche taking off. Seems like everyone I know is having poker nights etc which all started in the last year or so. So its on the comeback. Also the credit and debt niches are most likely in high demand due to the current economy.

I have small poker sites around, but nothing major. It's an interest of mine so it's real easy to make content for.

Negreanu won his 4th bracelet. Did you hear? That's awesome, he's my favorite player

Once I find a kink in the armor of the poker niche I'll go more into it, but what I'm doing right now is good enough until then.

I agree 100% with Matt. For myself and most others I know, the make money niches are by FAR the most profitable.

Most people say to stay away from those niches because of "too much competition." In my experience this couldn't be farther from the truth.

The key is knowing how to position yourself properly in these niches - and competition is exactly what makes that possible (joint ventures).

Any time I talk to a newer marketer who is truly serious about earning a six-figure income online as opposed to making a few bucks here and there, my advice is always to dig deep into one of the make money niches: forex, real estate, internet, etc.

There are various ones that are quite potent, I'm not sure that you can pin-point any one specific one as the best. Here's a quick checklist to make sure you don't end up in a lemon:

                        1. You should ideally be looking to enter prosperous markets - that means (if possible) millions of cash rich prospects who wont quibble about spending money on products, services and information.

                        2. Check your niche's trend - try and pick a niche that's experiencing a boom. For example, while travel has always been a giant niche, it's booming online while offline travel is in decline (I read a report a while back that claimed that there has been a 50% migration of travel bookings from offline to online). Niches that are buzzing will typically offer better payouts to website owners...more money in a niche = more advertisers bidding more money to attract your traffic = bigger profits for you.

                        3. Make sure there is a decent income/affiliate infrastructure available. Some niches offer stunning pay per lead returns (there are PPL of $100pl available if you know the right niches) - others don't offer PPL at all (or offer insulting values like $1pl).

Always a good thing to do your homework before spending a lot of time & mponey setting up shop in a new niche.

                Hello Tim,

Have you looked into or have attempted to sell in the identity theft market?

Commission Junction has some excellent programs in this market. I know that the Pre-Paid Legal people have jumped all over this market, and perhaps it may be a moneymaker.

By the way, love your stuff have read everything you've put out and it's because of you that I am again doing article marketing.

          Matt,
I didnt mean that "make money online" niche was a bad one. People do make money with it and a living. I guess I was looking for niches outside of the make money online. A lot of people on here do well at other niches and I understand that everyone has their own thing. I was wondering what people think is the most popular for consumer side of the house.

Is it Pets, Health, Poker, Cars, what ever it maybe.

I dont think that naming that your in the health or dog niche is going to ruin your business. I find that its easier to make money with the niches that have the most competition. Since you can see that people are buying what they are selling. But maybe thats just me......

These first two are more off-line than online businesses.

There are many people who need help finding jobs, so any type of job-finding or resume preparation service should be good niches, although I'm not sure where you'd find something that would be easy to start or even find with affiliate programs.

CNN ran a piece on people making use of thrift stores and second-hand shops for items. You could see if there's anything similar online with affiliate programs.

Think of anything that serves as an escape from problems. In hard times, some people will throw their hands up in the air and seek those outlets regardless of cost. Sex is always big.

It's an established fact that the dating scene expands when times are tough.
              Perhaps misery just loves company.

I don't think there is a "Particular One" niche that does it for everyone.

It can be absolutely anything depending on what your area of interest or hobby is. No 2 people may have the same interest and as such can totally focus on different niches.

There's is No Such Thing as a One Size Fits All type of niche.

    Hope this helps!

My suggestion would be to check some adwords stats and see which markets and subniches have the most paid advertising.

This will answer your question better than subjective opinion.

Like yoshiko says try spyfu for this info.
