Clickbank And Dormants Accounts

Hi guys i have been away from Internet Marketing for a good few months now and was just checking my Clickbank account, when i noticed it has become dormant. I have checked their policy and they are as follows.

Accounts with a positive balance but no earnings for an extended period of time are considered dormant. Dormant accounts are subject to a charge of $1 per pay period after 90 days of no earnings, $5 per pay period after 180 days of no earnings, and $50 per pay period after 365 days of no earnings.

So the small balance i had left has now been taken back by Clickbank, i would like to know what would happen if i made a sale now for instance, would they still take the fee i had earned or would my account start again in credit?

In the Middle ages it was called highway robbery or something like that.

Yes, it is not an ethical practice. It's probably something that some "smart" and high priced consultant suggested to get some numbers off the balance sheets.

I still can't believe they are legally doing this. There is no way in hell the cost to them of a dormant account comes anywhere near the fee they charge.

It's no different to just taking money from someones bank account.

    In other words:
    day 91-180 will cost you 89 x $1 = $89
    day 181-365 will cost you 184 x $5 = $920
    day 366-730 (1 year) will cost you 365 x $50 = $18250

I guess sleeping GB accounts suck (your account but not only) big time...

In 2011, the site had attracted over 1,500,000 affiliate marketers, approximately 100,000 of whom were designated as 'active' at any given time.[2][3] In June 2011 the company claimed to have paid affiliates and vendors over $1.8 billion, processed 35,000 transactions per day, and generated over $350M in annual revenue.

In other words "dormant" GB accounts is big-business if only 7% of the accounts are actually considered as "active" ... the rest are "dormant"?
hmm ... food for thought ...

No - the charges are for pay-periods not for days.

      And it's CB not GB

They can't take away money you don't have. They keep reducing until you have a zero balance.

Minimum payout is $10, so one should be paid at least that amount unless they haven't met the CDR.
