When You Find Emails Missing From Your Website Email Account

Last night I sent several emails out of my website email account.

This morning I went into my email box and there is no trace of those emails, and a previous email sent from the client was also missing from the inbox.

Is there any other explanation for this than the explanation that they were manually deleted via human intrusion into my email account?

Has anyone else had this happen to them? What was the reason they were missing?

Thank you

check spam, sent, and draft folders. If nothing check with your server.

There could be several things to look at. It sounds like you logged into Webmail on your cPanel, yes?

For mail sent from Webmail that doesn't arrive, it might be worth checking that your IP address for the domain hasn't been added to a blacklist. Email Blacklist Check - See if your server is blacklisted

The sent emails should still be in your sent box though. It's possible that your host needed to restore a backup, which might account for them being missing.

For incoming mail not making it into your mailbox, it could be a server issue or maybe a problem with the senders mail. Or did you mean that it was already in your Inbox and then vanished?

Do some testing. I have several online accounts to test mail when things go a bit weird. Gmail - Yahoo - Mail.com - hotmail and of course my primary with my ISP. Send a mail to your online mailbox from two or three different addresses. Then see what arrives. Reply to each one and see what gets delivered.

If your tests show a problem, then you'll need to contact your host, so they can investigate.

How did you send these messages? From what application?

What application did you use to check this morning?
