Authority Blog On Mutilple Niches?

Where is authority blog here , you are saying you will find high selling products and then write about them in your blog

Did i got it right ?

I am saying that I will create a blog and write about all sort of niches. Is this ok to do? I guess I am wondering if there is a real reason to pick one niche and only talk about that. Why can we not talk all about all the niches in one big blog?

Yes, it is possible. You should still have a unique 'voice' and unique position or angle on things.

For example, Life Hacker covers any possible 'niche' but from the angle of a 'quick learn' or 'life shortcut' or some twist on learning something. In addition, much of their content is short articles that curate and link to content from other sites.

For something like this you need to focus on your brand and your unique voice to build an audience for your articles in general rather than any particular niche.

And you would probably have to create a lot of content.

Edit: You can also tailor articles to suit your niche. So if you want to write about woodworking in a MMO blog, write about how much you like woodworking, etc. introducing the topic and then turn it into a discussion of woodworking as a viable niche to monetize.

Or the other way, if you want to talk about niche marketing on a woodworking blog start a series of articles about other ways to make money in woodworking besides building things - or how to use online marketing to promote a woodworking business or web site or something.

If you can gain trust of people on you then you should go for this project. When I first heard about internet marketing I was thinking the same way because I can not work in one niche. The only problem with this idea is that It'll take time to establish so it requires your patience. Patiently build your trust on your audience then you can rock in this field with your idea.

But you ll have to think a lot about it before you start this. I'm getting you, your concept very right since I also thought the same to start. Yes I also want to cover every thing, every news, every niche but this is a BIG BIG BIG task and you need a dedicated team for this.

Surely you ll be getting a lot ($$$) but again ask yourself first will you be able to handle every niche? Why I'm saying this since you just can not handle one single niche, there is a Hell of content required even on daily basis. Will you be covering every of that?

Thanks guys. My whole idea here is this:

1. Create a entertaining blog first and foremost and write about whatever I feel like writing about.

2. I could write about topics that I know have top selling clickbank products. There are a ton of high gravity clickbank products and I just recommend these products at the end of my post.

3. This way im not stuck in one niche and I always have ways to make money because I can cover anything I want.

Also since my blog will have unique quality content then I would never have to worry about falling victim to every single Google update. Plus over time my indvidual blog post on each subject would rank high because my website in general is growing and getting more backlinks over time naturally.

Seems simple Provide a valuable blog and it will grow naturally.

I have tried it in the past and it worked perfectly well. Take a look on about.com that is a perfect example.

My I got thousands of searches. On different keywords. Go ahead but it is time consuming due.

I agree with onSobie on his statements. I personally have no experience building authority websites. Having said that I don't do see why your IDEAD wouldn't work.

As onSubie mentioned, come up with a unique angle for the website and you'll start to attract an audience. Also, the branding and the NAME are very important so make sure you choose something catching and memorable.

I don't see a problem with this at all. It might be harder to find your target audience since there are so many different types of articles you can right, but there are sites doing exactly what you want to do.

The worst that you have to lose is $10 to register the site and some of your time!

Of course, you can write anything you want and promote it in order to earn from it. No one is preventing you from doing it.

Corey, you would make money with it if you become famous. Networking aggressively and branding your name would make people hear what you want to say, no matter what you are saying. So going this route means branding you, again and again, everywhere you show up.

I am starting this but I am worried my blog will be too untargeted. But it doenst matter as long as individual post rank for the keywords right?

As others have said, it is possible for this to work. You said that you are worried it will be untargeted. Of course it will be untargeted, you are saying you want a blog that has no specific focus and it is about whatever floats your boat at that time. As long as you keep it entertaining you could find success with it, people will come for the entertaining nature of the content, not necessarily the subject of the content itself. But don't expect it to be some cash cow, unless you get massive amounts of traffic, because you're not really going to be getting visitors that are looking to spend money.

Conceptually it's possible. But an authority site isn't just about sheer number of pages. You mention blogging about something that interests you, widely ranging topics, then linking to a product.
A true authority site will dig a little deeper and provide meaningful content into the topic at hand - not just share a short story then include a product link.
If you intend to provide that sort of deep, rich content, then sure this stands a great chance. If not, then I'm not sure how things will pan out.

Direct niche Authority? No. Popularity? Possibly. General interest authority? Yes... if you work hard and have the right connections. Know the difference.

The more you focus on a particular niche, the more authoritative you become. You can charge higher for display ads and create offers for a specific group of people.

Key is to focus on your audience - who will it be? Ideally the different subjects you talk about appeal to the same audience so you get some repeat visitors and loyal followers/commentors.

Think like a magazine, GQ magazine, they cover a ton of different topics, but all with an undertone to those with money and sense of style.

You can cover lots of niches, but really try and have a picture of your targeted reader when you write or curate your content.

To make this work, I think you'd need 1 of 2 things. You'd either need to be a person that people like enough to read about whatever you happen to write about. Since you're probably not famous, I don't think you can go this route

The other option is to make your content so good that people can't help but tell their friends about it. Look at BuzzFeed... I couldn't name anyone who writes there, but the articles are so catchy that I read them, share them on Facebook, talk about them with friends, etc. There's nothing to stop you from doing the same thing.

I think it is possible but you have to create a lot of content and you have to spread your word through social media massive!

That means you should also built a really strong Fanpage with the potential to go viral because I think the chance is higher to built your brand and the popularity of your blog through this.

I don't know if you are a funny guy but if you plan something like that being real funny and engaging will help you a lot!

It's possible, but I don't see how this would work when trying to capture optins. People would come with so many different interests to your blog.

Wow great replies!! Ok I just figured it out I want my blog to focus on hobby niches. Things like metal detecting. Coin hunting, robot building etc. I can have one big site that is all about hobby type niches. Then I have a section about whatever I want to talk about. This sounds better since its more focused huh? There are a ton of Clickbank products on hobby type niches. I just organize it per niche and keep it growing steadily.

I agree with drem - target audience? Ummm would really be hard to specifically speak to one customer avatar and to build deep relationships in order to create the know, like and trust atmosphere.

Thanks guys. But I what I have decided to do is create a "hobbyist blog." Basically I can target everything from vegetable gardening to metal detecting. That way I never run of items to promote as well as things to write about. Plus at the same time I am growing a huge website and each page still ranks for individual keywords etc.

I have had blogs that have done well in Google in the past, but they had about 50 pages of content on one topic.

So if you wanted to create a general site you would need to consider this. It may mean that you would need to create 30+ articles on each subject.

If you were not too worried about traffic from Google, you could create a general website and create Facebook pages for each topic.

If each article was interesting enough, then other Facebook users might share it and "Like" it, then your articles could attract a lot of visitors.

So with your project, the second idea, using Facebook to drive traffic, could work well.
