Starting Over Again...(Amazon Affiliate Sites)

Hello All,

Amazon terminated their affiliate program in my state a few years ago. They have relented and are accepting affiliates back...so I'm going to start all over again trying to make some Amazon affiliate sites and earn a few $$$.

A lot has changed in the years since...so I'm open to some suggestions on how to do this the right way this time... Some questions I have:

1) Which theme is the best for Amazon Affiliate sites now?

2) What works best for you to get traffic to your Amazon Affiliate site? By this I mean:

a) SEO / Google / Bing ?
b) Facebook Ads?
c) Google Adwords?
d) Twitter?
e) You Tell Me?

3) Any other great tips you would care to offer up.

4) Let me know if you can't make any money from Amazon Affiliate sites these days...

I want something that is going to work long term...not interested in dancing with any Penguins or Pandas or Peacocks or "whatever" Big G throws at me...

In other words, I want to make money via these sites for years to come.

I'm open to any/all suggestions on what y'all feel works the best.

Thanks
#starting

The most successful Amazon affiliates that I know (6+ figures/yr) have never depended on the search engines (especially the Big G) for any significant traffic.

Myob has pointed you to a couple of great threads that you can really learn from.

As for themes, any fast loading theme will do, I like the themes from Planet Starta and Kezz is selling her Amazillionaire theme in the Warrior Special Offers if you are looking for a good review style theme.

Good onsite optimization is important, as is high quality content with plenty of informational style articles, not too many affiliate links.

Web 2.0's, Facebook Fan Pages, small amounts of high quality links for traffic.

That's a few pointers to be going on with

For amazon, review site is one of the best because you can rank them directly on the search engines.

Another option is the astore which should be promoted with videos ranked on Google.

Ultimately, you need targeted traffic from the search engine and PPC preferably adword.

Web 2.0 like Squidoo, Hubpage and other authority sites will help with targeted traffic.

I will stay away from Facebook for traffic as it doesn't convert for most amazon products I have tried. The ROI isn't worth it.
