Need Advice - Ab Cruncher

Hi Warriors!
I've been around the marketing world a bit, but probably not nearly as much as most of you. I have an odd situation that was handed to me by a good friend of mine and I wanted to ask your advice.

My buddy recently created a new Ab Cruncher product (different name). They've shot a commercial and he's patented it. They have major backing from a very large distributor and deals are already in place to get in it Walmart and the big box stores. The commercial will start airing in two weeks.

Here's the strange part - the huge distributor is handling big box stores and international retail sales, but they haven't signed on to do online marketing.

They want to do online and have asked me to submit a proposal to them.

They are willing to do a rev share with me for any sales I drive.
I have two weeks to put it together, since the national commercial will start airing then.

I know weight loss / fitness products like this are a multi-million dollar industry, so I'm feeling a little intimidated.

Here is the plan I was tossing around in my mind:

Online marketing -
PPC
- Google / Bing
Partner with an Affiliate network
- CJ
- Peerfly
- ShareaSale
Blog / SEO
- Articles About the product
- Scam? blog
- Reviews blog
Display / Banner Ads
- Fitness sites
- Weightloss sites
- Weightloss review sites
Social
- Facebook Page
- Twitter
- Facebook Contests
- Youtube videos showing how to use it for each body part
- Partner with YouTube channels (rev share)
- Partner with Twitter folks to promote (rev share)
- Instagram
- Pinterest

Like I said above, I'm not a huge expert at online and my background is in web design and video production, but I have their trust (we've been friends for years) and they really want to give me this opportunity. I don't want to blow it. I do know about the above marketing methods, but again, I wouldn't call my self a seasoned expert.

They want to blow it out of the water like the thigh master - and it has the retail connections to do just that. But I've been handed the online part!

They have a website already with a shopping cart. I was thinking about setting up my own site (looking similar to theirs) to handle the affiliate transactions and pass the orders to their fulfillment system directly.

So, fellow Warriors! What do you think? Does the above strategy make sense? Is it crap? I'd love to get your opinions!

Thank you in advance!
John

Impressive list of tasks you've compiled! Lots of ideas, strategies, marketing options. Maybe you should outsource some of this to widen your reach?
Banner ads, text ads on large fitness/health websites might be worthwhile.
Do an Internet search for the most popular fitness websites and enquire, compare about ad space options. Solo ads to fitness lists introducing the brand new ab product should get you lots of targeted traffic. A Facebook/Twitter pages with product display and links to product sales page may help to build the buzz. A blog too, featuring videos, with optin? Good luck - I hope the product launch goes amazingly well for you!
