Seems the best would be if the contributors get opt-ins, course that's a given.

Chance to make money off OTO's would be good.

I think one thing about most giveaways, it's tough for the little guys to get listed if at all. Usually the big guys get the best piece of the pie, course don't know if you could do anything about that. Just a thought.

You probably already know these ideas.

To have a successful giveaway event, you'll need big JV's and to keep them motivated to promote your giveaway. I'm sure you've joined giveaways before, so take a look at who consistently tops the leaderboards and those are the people you want at your giveaway as well.

I see you're using Scott Case's script. I would recommend customizing the welcome page because every single giveaway on that script uses the exact same welcome page and tbh, it is not only hypey (e.g. six month's list growth in days, heck of a lot richer), but it is a turn-off to see that every time I get to a giveaway.

Keep your JV's motivated with a killer JV contest. Don't do a piddly $100 contest....were you part of the New Year Giveaway? The contest was for a few thousand dollars! I'm not saying you need to have one that big, but if you have a contest, make sure you have enough money to pay out at the end.

Also, offer contributor training. Not all your contributors will know how to upload via FTP or even where to find gifts. Make it easy for your contributors to get set-up at your giveaway and to promote. Give them enough tools like swipe emails and banners, even tweets or other stuff like that if you want.

Lastly, mail often during pre-launch and post-launch. Kick your contributors' and members' butts to promote promote promote.

    Good luck!

    Shlomi,
First thanks for the invite to the giveaway on twitter..

Here is the problems as I see it and I am by no means an "Expert" I think people like Jason James is more in that category but anyways...

I joined 3 of them not long ago and I paid for upgrade on 2 of them. I got subs but was I satisfied with what I got ? Not really and here is why ...

On each event I submitted a unique gift that was created by me and NOT in the general public. These gifts (yes more than one) was from pdf's to php scripts. Again these was not some off the wall lame gifts that I got from some MRR or PLR site, they was created by me and of high quality.

I did get subs as I said but I sure should have got a great deal more subs with the quality of gifts I gave away because you could not get these gifts anyplace else. My gifts on one site was rated 5 stars, I also paid as I said for upgrades that gave me ads and oto's which I submitted those and made $0 from them.

Again I am no expert but still feel let down to some degree because when I went to browse these gifts all I seen was mostly junk, old out-of-date stuff, stuff you could find on google for free, eBooks that have been around for 3+ years, and etc... Out of all 3 events (even as a paid member) I downloaded 1 gift.

The problem I see is that there are just too many PLR and MRR gifts being given away over and over and over. This lowers the quality of the entire giveaway and thus the quality of subs will be lower. I know I am ot the only one that has seen this and trust me I am only on a few people' mail list but even I can spot an old out of date ebook.

Unless you have a mail list of thousands I think it is kinda hard to get your list to even join many giveaway events for the same reason I mentioned above.

I know many events say they "screen" the contributors but thatcan not be 100% true when you see the same old gifts over and over. If you can provide a 100% unique giveaway that only allows 100% brand new unique gifts, then I would be the first one on board and may even pay for upgrade.

    Shlomi,

Rank the gifts based on how many people someone refers. That gives contributors an incentive to actually push it.

The real problem being 29 giveaway events running at the same time... and quality of most of them isn't as good as it should be. Moreover, I personally think most of their members are freebie seekers and lists are less responsive than they used to be in the past.

I personally only join those event that don't last more than one week; generally gifts are from higher quality.

Garrie, referring people to giveaway events becomes more and more difficult. Lastly, while promoting Top Marketing giveaways, some subscribers replied to me with "top???", lol. Even big boys don't refer as many people as the used to in the past - no need to look further than the giveaway stats or leader board in our backoffice.

Also I think people don't really like to open the giveaway backoffice and being presented something to buy while a giveaway event is supposed to be giving you stuff for free.

All in all, Shlomi, if I were you, in addition to all mentioned in this thread (yes, it's necessary to modify the landing page!!), I would make my giveaway something that happens only once or twice a year and lasts only 7 days, requiring high quality products that I would personally check and not allow duplicate gifts or gifts submitted in other events.

I think this way, your giveaway would be a hit

    Just my two cents.
